Inexpensive and easy to use
I only occasionally use this to make plain rice. Often I'll add some meat crumbles, (I'm vegetarian so I usually use some brand of veggie meat substitute like Boca or Morningstar since all they need is being heated through) a can of Rotel, and maybe some salsa. I make sure everything is mixed well, put on the lid, plug it in, push down on the lever, and let it cook. When the light changes from cooking to warming I have a nice meal ready. To clean up I wait until it cools, rinse out the cooking area, fill it with cold water for an hour or so, dump out the water, wipe it down, and voila, it's clean.

Replaces A Salton 4 Cup That Was 25 Years Old
Great little rice cooker that my wife uses at her shop. The old one was a 4 quart model and it finally quit after about 25 years. We expect this one to outlast both of us.

Everyone should have a rice cooker
Everyone should have a rice cooker. Perfect rice everytime. For such as staple food it can be a real hassle to get right. Our old rice cooker broke about a year ago - after about a decade of faithful service - and we just started boiling our rice or cooking it in the one pot pressure cooker (that's totally not worth it) and finally I just bought another rice cooker because they are so cheap, easy to use, easy to clean and make perfect rice everytime in about 15 - 20 min. set it and forget it.

So far so good
Up to this point I have been impressed with my Salton rice cooker. I like the stylish black exterior and it doesn’t take up much space on the counter or cupboard. The cooker tray is very easy to clean and no rice has stuck to the bottom. I am starting to figure out the proper ratio of rice to water and my most recent batch of rice was the best I have ever made. Rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. My only problem is that compared to other rice cookers I have used in the past the cover for my Salton seems a tiny bit small so while rice is cooking water is escaping the unit and spilling on the counter. I have tried repositioning the cover and that seems to help.

Best rice of my life, easy to use
Listen, this is nothing fancy. If you wanted a rice cooker that you can prepare a five course meal with then you're in the wrong place. However, me and my roommates are SUPER happy with how simple this machine is and the quality of rice it produces. If you want the bare minimum this is the perfect option. 100% recommend for someone looking for a simple rice cooker. If you need something elaborate, keep searching.

It works
Easy to use and creates good rice, without taking up much space on the kitchen counter. Win win win.

Even cookware deserves a second chance !!!!
Affordable..... didn’t make a mess at all; my only comment was that, the the very first time I used it ..... smelled something I can’t described while the rice was still cooking that passed into the cooked rice !!!! Rice tasted awful but was trained early on life to never throw rice unless it is really spoiled that it will make me sick. On the 3rd use of the cooker the unpleasant smell and taste is gone.

Average, but good for the price i guess.
It overflows Everytime, not what i expected, gets the platform all dirty. If i put less water, it makes the rice all hard n dry. May be I'm not using the right kind of rice. But still, it goes to warm after done cooking, which i expected, but can't be left unmonitored like many other rice cookers which shuts down on it's own. Warm function slowing starts burning the rice at the bottom, so has to be unplugged once done. One cup of rice is enough for meal had twice/thrice. Nonstick function is decent.
