Don't buy this phone. It is a piece of junk.
It echos. It makes weird sounds. The handset locator doesn't work well. Right now, it isn't working at all. I bought it only a few months ago, but its apparently too late to return it. I paid top dollar for it and it was a waste of money. I don't know what else to say. I was ripped off and I'm pissed.

LOVE it!
Super easy to use - easy to figure out. Has 250 call blocking numbers. Easy to read the caller ID on the handset and the base both . No grabbing your reading glasses here! Works super well with Voice Mail too! Just program your voice mail number in - it's that simple. When you get a VM call - just push the designated button and it automatically dials it for you! Could not be easier! Someone recommended this phone on a web site and I am so glad that I bought it! Recommend it highly and would buy another one!

Great features, not perfect
Our cordless phone was dying, so we splurged and bought this. I got it because I was impressed by the built-in speakerphone and call block features. All of those work great. It's nice to have access to speakerphone and voice mail right on the handset as well as the base. Yes, there's a learning curve to learn how to take advantage of some features, particularly when using the call-block or caller ID custom features. There are a few bad things about this phone though. First, the speaking caller ID is practically useless. We have it turned on because my parents are elderly, and I want them to know who's calling before they have to decide whether to race for the phone. Well, the way this unit reads the caller ID is like a retarded toaster trying to read Shakespeare. It completely butchers the caller ID name to the point where familiar callers are unrecognizable. Useless, unless you learn the "new language" the phone is speaking. Second, it's nice the handset and base show "missed call" when a call is not answered, however it shows this even if you answer the call on a different phone. We have a different phone upstairs, and if we answer the call there, it still says "missed call" on the Panasonic phone. Otherwise, this phone is very nice. We have a fairly normal, mid-sized, late 50's suburban 2-story home, and the range of the phone is fine. We've used the call block successfully. Voice mail works fine, and it's easy to tell when there's a message, and easy to listen to the message. One neat feature is when the phone rings, you can use the handset to answer by pressing any key. My mother is elderly, and her hands shake, so this is a nice feature when we have to leave her alone for a while -- we leave her with the handset, and feel confident she can at least answer calls. I've tried teaching her to use the speakerphone button, but here the many features and buttons on the handset are a liability for a blind, weak, old woman. This phone is rather expensive, but for the features it has, at least it's not as expensive as some of the $200 phones out there. For under $70 I think it's a good value.

Worked great for 13 months
I loved this phone but have to replace it after only 13 months. It goes dead. I have to take the batteries out and switch them around. I have tried replacing the batteries but to no avail. It finally just died. Really disappointed!

My few problems are irritating ones
This phone works well, but has two issues that truly irritate me. First, making changes to the set up (like changing the outgoing greeting) is unnecessarily complicated. Instead of simply following an intuitive series of commands, you have to refer to the instruction book for programming codes. Once you have the code, it's easy, but having to look up the codes is just a pain. what were they thinking? The other problem is the headset jack. After about a month of use, I found my headset cutting out unless the headset jack was placed just so in the jack outlet. Now I have to hold the jack in place with my finger to use the headset. Without the headset, the phone works well, but if you need to use a headset so you can type or do other things, you might want a different model..

Only defense against those %#$@ Telemarkerers!
This phone can block up to 250 numbers. It can't completely stop unwanted telemarketer calls but it can cut off the persistent ones that keep calling back. It just takes a few simple clicks to add numbers to the blocked list. The do not call list is completely worthless. The scammers that use spoof numbers and robo dialers are criminals and do not care about any laws. By the time you report them they will have already changed the numbers. It took the FBI years and offering huge rewards to finally bust just a few of the "Rachael from credit services" interest rate scam and I still get similar calls. The handset has a very good range. I can go to my garage or anywhere on my property without it ever cutting out. If you are a little hearing impaired like me the speaker phone has a very good volume. This also has a power out feature that can use the batteries in the handset to keep power to the phone live long enough for you to report the outage. It uses standard AAA rechargeable batteries. Previous phones I have had use a plug in pack that costs almost as much as a new phone.

It's is just OK.
Speakerphone has way too much bass. It is very difficult to understand anyone on it.
