A fine addition.
I write and record my own music along with a partner. I am always looking for something that will add to our sound. I don't need another guitar that sounds like one I already have. This guitar fills that bill. I like it because it can be played as an acoustic or an electric. The tone control is excellent. You can get a good treble or lower bass sound. It has already added to the sounds I am looking for. If I never played the guitar I would gladly hang it on the wall. Whoever designed this guitar was an artist at heart. It is beautiful and plays with ease. It's not unusual for me to buy a guitar and then sell it a couple of years later because I get tired of the sound. I have a feeling this beauty has found a home. If I played out live every night I can't say as I would make it my main guitar. It might not be versatile enough for that but if you record or if you are a jazz musician this might well be the choice for you.

Buyer beware!
Cheap wood, cheap construction, fingerboard was coming apart when I received the guitar. I returned this immediately and bought a Gretsch New Yorker instead. If you’re in the market for this style, I recommend either Gretsch New Yorker, Gretsch Synchromatic, The Loar, or Eastman. I bought my New Yorker brand new for $50 less and it arrived in one piece, and from the first strum it sounded so much better than this Washburn. The Gretsch is made from much more quality materials, constructed perfectly and sounds incredible! The Gretsch did not come with a case, so I had to buy that separately. But, when you think about it, if you're getting a guitar that comes with a quality hard case like this Washburn at this price, you have to know that part of what you're paying for is the case, meaning the guitar is going to be worth less, and therefore lower quality than what you might be expecting for the price you pay--no such thing as a free name brand case; that just doesn't happen

Great guitar for the Money.
This guitar is a great guitar. At the time of my purchase it was $699.I've owned about 8 guitars now, and this is my first 'steel string acoustic'. I love the way it sounds acoustically and plugged in. Especially with the tone knob rolled all the way off. Great jazz tones. You can tell this guitar is very mass produced when you start to look at things like the binding, the finish, the roughness of the binding on the F-holes. Which is to be expected, besides that the guitar is very playable. No overhanging frets. the Tuners are nice and stiff, but turn smoothly. The nut was not too far cut in. It just may need a set up out of the box if you get it shipped in.Now I will mention this guitar came in partially broken from AAA Musical The pickguard (which is made of wood) was completely snapped and broken at the screw by the pickup. The pickup was also misplaced below the neck as it is a floating pickup and not mounted into the guitar body.AAA Musical did get a replacement pickguard sent out and stayed in contact with me decently well throughout the process.Buyer beware though. Washburns Customer Service sucks, and the will not speak with you. They will only speak to independent sellers who are licensed to sell Washburn merch. In summery this guitar is no Montgomery L-5 by Gibson, but its an amazing guitar for the price.

Good Tone, Not as pretty as the picture and Made in China
This is a great value jazz guitar. I've been able to crank out a Rockabilly twang tone without much effort and the instrument just hums with a great bass heavy jazz tone when played clean. The finish of the guitar is not exactly as pictured - be warned. This is normal especially with the antiquing process. However the pictured guitar looks like its almost a hand rubbed oil finish. In reality this is a matte spray job with a faded tobacco sunburst look. Honestly I was a little let down - it looks much cheaper than the picture leads on.With that said my biggest eyebrow raise was the "Made in China" stickers on it. If I had know that it would have swayed my purchasing power. Nothing against China but they are not known for excellent handmade instruments. It came with a poorly finished bridge with raw pieces that will need sanding. Theres is a distinct buzzing coming from the 5th string.Any guitar out of the box needs some tune up work but I found this one more so. I have not replaced the strings as I'm still demoing the product to make sure the pickup doesn't go out. That said - they left a plastic film over the pickup that can't be removed without cutting off the strings. This makes it hard to get a good estimate of the true tone without cutting the strings off to get at the pickup.I'm sure once I've vetted the hardware and I feel like its a "keeper" I will be able to set this thing up properly and I'll be a little happier. All in all for the money its a solid buy. Just be aware - not as pretty as the picture and this is a stamped out Chinese manufactured guitar.

Washburn Guitars
My experience with Washburn's customer support has been appalling. Non-existent, in fact. As far as I ever came to having a hopelessly defective Washburn EC resonator dealt with has been repeated buck-passing. i.e. Contact your local supplier/importer/distributor. WTF! Stay away - or risk being burned!
