Excellent flash and the price is outstanding! The flash will work on any camera with a hot shoe.
I bought this flash on the recommendation of Graham Houghton, and found the flash to work as advertised. The features of the flash have been covered by Graham and many others and I agree with all of them. It is an awesome flash and is very powerful. The only thing I do not like about the flash is the stepping process in turning up or turning down the power. If the button above or to the right of the set button is pressed, the flash power goes up, but it is in steps, not in stops. It goes up 1/3 EV every time the button is pressed and if the button is pressed three times it goes up one stop. It takes forever to go from 1/64 to 1/2 power for instance by pressing the button. The button can be held down, but at that point it goes incredibly fast and it is hard to stop it in time. I wish there was a way to take the 1/3 EV stepping process out of the flash and just give me stops like from 1/64 to 1/32 to 1/16 without going through the stepping EV process along the way.The flash is a manual one in that the power and zoom settings are set by you and not the camera. This flash will work on any camera that has a hot shoe and will not work in any of the auto modes like TTL.A Nikon 900 flash plastic diffuser will fit on the Aperlite flash.http://www.amazon.com/Xit-XTHD910-Bounce-Diffuser-SB-900/dp/B00BY3LQ8M/ref=cm_rdp_product

Great product!
I bought this flash back in November 2015, seeing as it is now months later, April 2016, I thought I might write a review of it.This is the first flash I've ever bought. I've used it on my Canon T5i, then when I upgraded to a Canon 70D I used it on there as well. I have not had any problems with it. Before I bought it, I knew nothing about flash lighting and had never shot with a flash before. Shooting on manual mode I got the hang of it quite easily. I shot a wedding in a very dark venue on December 31, 2015, still in the process of learning how to use the flash AND my new Canon 70D at the same time. Of course, the bride and guests were pleased with the photos, as was I, but I was most satisfied with the performance of my gear.Looking back on it, there were no problems. The recycle time was reasonable for the power outputs I was setting. The flash is still in my kit, even though I did upgrade to the Yongnuo off-camera flash system. I would not recommend buying the TTL versions, as they are more expensive and those have the automatic modes, which may lead to frustration as to why the photos aren't turning out how you would want them to. Manual mode will teach you how to properly use your camera and flash in combination, leading to more satisfaction with your work later! Conclusion: This item is very reasonably priced, versatile, performs well, and I highly recommend this product to any amateur camera-users or budget camera-users!

Inexpensive, High quality, manual flash
First of all, I'm not a professional photographer and this is the first flash gun I've used. But, it's so much better than the internal flash on the camera (I have a Panasonic FZ1000), and it's much more versatile too. While it's manual mode only, you can use it as a slave and trigger it from your internal flash, or get a transmitter/receiver device to use it as an off-camera flash. This one swivels 270 degrees and you can point it straight up to a ceiling for a bounce flash. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

Great Product!
It does everything I need it to and so far has worked flawlessly. I use it as an off camera flash with a wireless trigger. Settings are easy to adjust and straight forward.

My YH-400 won't trigger on-camera or off-camera via Yongnuo RF600C ...
My YH-400 won't trigger on-camera or off-camera via Yongnuo RF600C. My camera is Canon 760D/T6s.UPDATE March 10, 2016:Got it to work now. The secret is not to shoot in Live View Mode. This is to be done for both on-camera and shooting wireless using a wireless trigger.
