I used this extension on my Central Machinery Lathe from Harbor Freight. No problems.

I bought this item based on reviews from other buyers as well as the price. I have a Harbor Freight benchtop wood lathe that appears to be the same as a few other benchtop lathes (Excelsior, Grizzly and possibly some others...) and it basically fits great. I will say that I may enlarge one of the mounting holes to make it fit just a bit more perfectly but it will work as is.After buying the Harbor Freight lathe, I thought it would be nice if I could turn something as long as table legs so I started searching for an extension as HF does not sell one. Out of several possibilities, this was not only rated well but was priced reasonably as well.This unit more than doubles the working stock length (from 18" to 39") which is great for the price too.I am new to lathe work but I quickly decided that 18" was fairly limiting so this provided a fine solution.Get this from Rockl_r through Amazon and there are no taxes and no shipping plus you get it fast!

This mini lathe bed extension works well. It is well made and has a good fit and finish. The bed is easy to attach. I did have to use a few brass shims to make it level and parallel to the existing lathe. This is not really a problem. I have had to fine-tune many tools in my shop. For example: I bolted on the cast iron extensions on my Delta Unisaw thinking they would be flat and flush with the main bed of the saw. I was wrong. Both of the cast iron extensions had to be shimmed. You would think that such an expensive saw would be almost perfect out of its box. I can tell you that almost all tools need to be altered. Nothing is without flaws. They will only be as accurate as they're assembled Directions are not always perfect.David F.

This extension is incredible. This fits my HFT Central Machinery 1018 just right. Right now, I'm spindling a walking stick, but it's nice to know that I can do table legs, pool cues, and other things over 18", and beyond 3 Ft. None of this needs bricks, or sand bags, as the total weight is around 100 Lbs. Solid cast Iron, but when you do long spindles, just be sure to slow your speed down (fortunately, I have a good face shield), unless you plan to launch your work 3-5 feet into the air. This comes in handy for all present, and future spindle turnings.

The extension was very easy to assemble on my HF mini lathe. It took less than 15 minutes to set up. This product saved me a lot of money over buying a new lathe. It works beautifully!

Had to adjust it but it wasn't bad i like the weight it helps hold down the vibration

The item arrived missing the bolts to attach the extension to the lathe. I bought replacement bolts, but then discovered the extension would not fit properly with the lathe, the center gap was off by almost 1/8 inch. That means the tailstock would not slide from the lathe bed to the bed extension. Would not buy again. Customer service refused to send replacement bolts because it was purchased through Amazon.

Unit is a little difficult to set up properly. The bed casting (inside width) does not match the base unit inside bed width. Time for a grinder, I guess. I used a little motorcycle chain lube underneath to allow the tail stock to slide better.
