Trap shooting for Insominiacs
Despite excellent production quality, this DVD will be of little help to adult learners,First, the course doesn't define learning objectives. The chalk talk sessions were slow, repetetive, and poorly illustrated,Show a few real shooters solving real world problems, and then use illustrations to bolster the case. Learners want to see solutions to their problems, not a video billboard for products, seminars, shotguns, and of all things a shooting coat.I would rather have seen a top ten common mistakes segment, with focused, proven methods to solve the problems. Make the video 90 minutes and focus on the target.I wasted 200 minutes and over $50.00 that I will never recover.

This CD is not really suitable for beginners. I got very little useful information out of it other than to not look at the beads on my gun and instead focus solely on the clay. I was also surprised at what a relatively poor communicator Mr. Kiner is, even though he teaches many trap seminars for a living. He certainly knows his stuff, but it takes him quite a few minutes of talking to convey a relatively simple concept. I actually had trouble staying awake through parts of it.

Crushing targets over and over again. Listen and learn.
Excellent production quality. Shooting scores improved after watching the video. Kiner helped me quiet the chattering monkey on my shoulder I now hear Phil Kiner coaching me during my rounds. Video improved my pre shot visual processor.

virtually worthless
if "those who can't, teach" then it's logical to assume "those who can, can't teach". no better evidence to support that argument then kiner's traphooting clinic video. obv, kiner is the best of the best when it comes to breaking clays but this training video is awful.having shot trap for a while i was able to follow along a bit but he doesn't define the terms he uses or build on concepts from one section to the next. while he may be good in person on video he's a poor communicator - hard to believe this is a guy who has a masters degree in economics. he probably spends 40 minutes talking about "cross over" but it took me at least 15 minutes to figure out that it only applies to 2 eyed shooters - spoiler alert ... his advice - close one eye. how about a simple explanation of the term to start?even the video of people shooting actual rounds was disorganized and of virtually no value. it's an over the shoulder camera with phil's voice over literally saying "he missed" or "good smoke" once in a while he'll add "most people would say he was behind that one but he was really in front of it" without any further explanation of why they missed other than a less than smooth move to the clay being due to crossover. the video doesn't go in order from station to station, coherently show different looks (hard right / left or "straight aways" or clearly show what the shooter was doing right or wrong on a given bird.the production quality is so bad it actually detracts from what little useful content is in the video - it's as if he set up a video camera in the club house and just started talking.finally, the product placements are over the top. the guy plugs all his vendors w/o even the slightest nod to the fact they're paying him to be included.bottom line - this was barely worth watching for free on youtube let alone paying 50 bucks for.
