Everyone who lives in Tahoe or a similar mountain / ski town environment (like me) needs one of these. I keep it in the back of my 4Runner...not because I don't know what I'm doing (or because I don't know how to drive in snow--I grew up driving in snow + ice) - but because you never know if a snowplow will drive by and burry your rig (suv / car / etc) with a bunch of ice chunks (or recently, I had a 4' diameter beast! <ugh!>)Small, sturdy, folds so you can tuck it under your seat / just about anywhere. Great quality at a solid price-point.

I wanted a compact folding shovel for the car that was both tough and lightweight top to bottom and narrow to go between parked cars. Parts had to be made to last and work in cold weather without breaking. After seeing some junk out there made both of plastic and metal with some really wimpy parts, I found this serious and excellent compact shovel. It's well engineered of lightweight aluminum where it counts, beefy in both plastic and metal components including beefy lever and spring action so it just works. It will shovel path around car doors and rear or front tires to get snow moved and has oval metal shaft and spade to keep its edge and hold shape without hurting back with too heavy loads. Tough enough to chop some ice with the edge as well. Easy and reliable collapsible and unfolding will deploy in the cold. Excellent lightweight given it is strong aluminum and very positive grip. I wanted to get this review up immediately because this is a good choice if you are in doubt about these compact shovels that look similar in the pictures. Yes it was an extra few bucks but if you've had the lightweight plastic Spade variety you know you don't want one made like a toy.

It is foldable and lightweight, good sturdy shovel for regular digging duties in my opinion, yet for snow shoveling? One key things is the edge of the blade is not straight line, slightly angled "top of the hill" shape which hits the ground surface and dig in, doesn't allow the shovel to smoothly slide over the surface. This angle, I'd assume, will give you extra digging capacity when you're digging a hole, yet doesn't quite help you plowing snow.It is tiny bit too short for even small guy like myself 5'6" to comfortably do the shoveling for a long period of time, I think it is good to have in you ur car - for emergency use of digging your tires out of mud/snow and stuff, so much better than not having anything, for sure!!

I bought this shovel as an addition to my Jeep recovery kit as I live in a snowy mountain area. In the few weeks I have had it I have encountered two different people stuck in a snowy ditch. I used the shovel to dig around the tires and suspension on their cars before using a recovery rope. The shovel holds a surprisingly large amount of snow for its size and is quite sturdy. Folds compactly, extends easily, and does the job. What more could you ask for? The price is reasonable for what you get and the seller had very fast shipping. A+ all around!

Just came in from using the snow plow and it performed as advertised. The best part is you fold it up to almost nothing and put in the trunk or back seat and your set for the next time you need it.

I bought this after a big snowstorm where I had trouble driving up my long driveway during a snowstorm. Afterwards I put a canister of cat litter in my car and ordered this snow shovel should I get stuck. Problem was I ordered it to get it before our next bad snowstorm but it got delayed and I didn’t get it in time. We have another big storm coming tomorrow and it’s in my truck now. While the county plows the roads we live rurally and have a ¾ mile long gravel driveway with little hills that winds around. When we get a lot of snow we never know what our driveway will be like so I am happy to have this little shovel. It really is a decent shovel, holds a bit and is heavy duty. It is shorter than our house shovel but it can be shortened further with the little holes, so it easily fits in my Acura. My husband might hate having to bend to use it but it works fine for me. I’m 5’5”. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and heavy duty this shovel is.

I bought this for snow removal during a record winter here in the Northwest. The biggest pro is that it is very light weight. But I found that it was too short to be much good for me (too much bending for my weak back). I have let my 9-year old grandson use it, and it makes him happy. I really can't speak to the durability since I just let him use it. The paint did not hold up when he scraped it on the bare pavement, but that is to be expected.
