Exact Replacement for Heatilator Blower
My 6-year old Heatilator gas fireplace blower became weak, and would not change speeds—basically could only do “low speed.” Had to discern if it was the blower or the wireless remote receiver. Bypassed the wireless receiver by plugging the blower in directly to an outlet, and it still ran at a very low speed only. Ordered this unit, replaced the old one with this, which restored the fireplace’s full functionality. Same form, fit, function. It’s not the quietest at full speed, but no louder than the original. Easy and inexpensive fix to the problem.

Powerful fan, but fairly loud
As most people, I purchased this as a replacement for my old fan due to it starting to squeak loudly. Install was easy and fan is powerful for sure. However, you do pay the price for good airflow with a loud fan. I use this in my living room fireplace and it is definitely heard over the TV. But for the price I thought I’d keep the fan and try a cheap option to cut down on the fan noise. I purchased a variable fan controller https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0714FFG4F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) and that seems to solve the noise problem as I took the power down to about 3/4 speed. Even though obviously this cuts down on the amount of air output, it outweighs the annoyance of the fan. Since the fan output was already great, even though I dialed it back, it still puts out a satisfactory amount of air even at 3/4 speed, and if I need more output, I can just crank it up for a bit, then turn it back down to maintain heat output. One thing I did notice as that it does not stick well all the way around, still stays in place, but will be putting some heavy duty Velcro strips to help secure it a bit better.

So quite, I thought it was NOT WORKING!
I have a Lopi (Travis Industries) gas fireplace insert. This is the replacement for the OEM fan. I have replaced it about every 3-4 years. This fireplace heats our 2 story, 4bdr house just fine here in California. It's a very difficult install having to pull the insert out to gain access to the blower. I just turned it on an I honestly thought it was DEFECTIVE....IT IS THAT QUIET!!I still am in shock. It came with some sound deadening pads and I used them like big spongy washers for the mounting bolts. Very Happy!

Works GREAT!
An exact replacement for the Heatilator GFK4B blower assembly. Removing the old and replacing with this new unit was very tricky due to limited space but after much maneuvering, it slid into place. The worst part was removing the backing from the double sided foam tape and then maneuvering the unit without it sticking to the correct position. The existing air deflector and fan bracket were removed from the old unit and installed on the new unit and both fit perfectly. After installation, adjusting the fan control to various speeds was surprisingly quiet and vibration free.

Works well but took awhile
Even though the fan is lighter than the original, it seems to push a lot of air, although as others have mentioned, a bit noisily. I too backed off on the speed to reduce the noise. Not sure how it only took others 5 minutes. Perhaps it is my builders grade fireplace but I had one heck of a time getting the old one out of the opening and even more fun getting the new one in. It was one contorted tight squeeze. Waiting until the new fan was inserted to put the adhesive pads on the housing likely would have helped a bit with the insert of the new fan. Also, the new housing screws in the front did not line up exactly but close enough that everything sort of moved into place when tightening.Hopefully it will be some time before I need to do this again. Got 17 years out of the original but it should have been changed about 7 years ago. It just got to the point that it was slow to start and the speed kept vacillating.

Replacement blower*
I'm sure this blower will work fine for our 1984 Heatilator fireplace insert. It was kind of a tight fight but fits fine. One thing though, it does not come with a power cord, this, a replacement blower only. Comes with the foam sticky pads to eliminate any vibration noises. Our insert didn't have a blower even though it's hit an outlet for one that's not wired. So I have to run to the hardware store for spade connectors, I already have a sufficient cord to utilize for this. Should work fine once I get it wired. Just want a heads up that they do not supply the power cord. Z

Great quiet fan
I got this to replace my current blower motor and this thing works great. It came in a small box, and was installed within 5 minutes. The fan is almost silent. I have to really listen to hear if it is on or not. Works great.
