Not bad for the price!
People say they are a bit heavy, but I didn't expect super high end, light weight paddles at this price. The weight didn't seem to bother any of the 8 people who used the 4 sets we purchased for a gathering. The only other complaint I saw was that the coupler in the middle breaks. It seemed like as long as they are just snugged up, not over tightened, they should last a good long time. No issues for any of us on a fairly demanding river. I love that they break down to 4 short pieces for storage, too!I might buy a few more for my other kayaks. :-)

Gets the job done
I've had these oars for a couple of years now and they've done the job just fine. The connector thing that attaches both of them together is a cool feature, but I've never really used it before so I can't say anything great about it. These oars are pretty cheap, and lightweight, but they are definetly not flimsy. Overall, the only downside of these oars is the rubber stoppers get a bit worn out after a while and slide down the oars so you have to readjust them every few minutes. But keep in mind this has been after a year or so. Even then, great product!

light, strong, and cheap.Great for boating, but not so great for kayak.
I love this oars. I owned one for about two years.I originally bought them to use with a kayak, but the locking piece ended up breaking. It's not a good kayaking paddle. It might work as a spare, but I would not count on it for long distance paddling.Having said that, it is a great set of oars for inflatable rafts. I purchased a second set as the kids were "demanding" one extra set. It's very efficient and it's much better than the paddle that comes with the rafts. It's long enough to actually use it as an oar. It's strong and it floats! The only reason I give it 4 starts it is because of the kayaking use. (2 stars for Kayak, and 5+ stars for boats)

Good Paddle
When I purchased 2 sets of these paddles, I wasn't sure whether they'd work. I had received a Sevylor Caravelle-4 raft as a gift, and knew that I would get better control of the raft with kayak paddles. When my wife and I tried our raft, and these Intex paddles at a local lake, they worked fine. We found that we had more control of the raft with these paddles, because we could work as a team during rowing. They really work great with the Caravelle-4 raft made by the Sevylor Company. We had a great time. These paddles really are sturdy, and definetely are the right size. We are looking forward to our next time at the lake.

ok, but...
Ok for the money. No cushions for hand grip, and the connector is fairly time consuming to line up at the right angles. It seems to work well in the water though and the length is great for me. Another thing to think about is that the connector in the middle is plastic. That is where all the stress and tension is, so i am not sure how long it will be before that plastic piece breaks.

Good Value!
I got my hands on an inflatable kayak this year for free. I was pretty excited at the idea of being able to go out on the lake this spring and summer. First things first though... we needed paddles and life vests. I quickly realized that my "free" boat could still end up running me a couple hundred dollars. We borrowed life vest from family and went to look for paddles. We're complete beginners and knew we may only take this boat out once or twice. We didn't want to spend much at all.All the paddles for this price point at the stores were total junk. Screw together emergency paddles. Anything worth any use started around $50.I read the reviews here and though I was skeptical, we needed to get the paddles in order to try out the darn boat. So, I ordered them. I purchased two and some paddle leashes. When the paddles arrived, I was blown away by the quality. They're kind of heavy, but not ridiculously. They have flat ends instead of curved scoops, but honestly, I don't think it will make much difference to us. The way they build up and tear down is awesome. They seems crazy sturdy for the money. We've only taken them out once, quite briefly, but they did well and traveled well, broken down, they fit in the back seat of the car. I'd recommend them for anyone who needs the cheapest option for starting out, a spare paddle for back up or possibly for someone who needs a set of oars on the cheap.

replaced the shorter version that breaks at the plastic joint.
We have an Intex Seahawk 2. We love the raft, but both oars that came with raft broke in the first few times using them. The oars come in two pieces and are joined by a plastic ring clamp. This ring clamp is poorly designed and will break. It's pretty frustrating when you are out in the middle of a lake with a breeze and your paddles break. So, we wanted to replace with paddle that would fit but not have the faulty ring clamp. We purchased these longer Intex paddles because they are just 2 inches shorter when you use one piece without the clamp. The diameter of the paddle handle is exactly the same so it fits perfectly in the oar locks of the raft. Only downside is that we lost 2 inches, but that's better than the stress of having your paddles break. You would think Intex would test their paddles before shipping 100s of thousands of them. The raft is great.

Impressive. Cheap & very usable with a recreational kayak.
Bought a couple of these paddles to use with our little 8 ft E-Motion Comet kayaks just to see what they were like. The Comets are inexpensive, easy, no-fuss daily fun and I wanted some inexpensive paddles to match. Honestly, these were so much less expensive than even the cheapest economy paddles available locally that I had my doubts. The design is not as efficient as better paddles we have used, so you work a bit harder. And if you are doing many hours of paddling, that could be a problem. But for the money, I'm impressed. They seem sturdy and well made for the price point. They break down to a very small package so I would not hesitate to use them as backup paddles even on a longer trip. And although you won't impress any dedicated kayakers, they really are fine for short calm water lake and river excursions if money is a prime consideration. It all depends on what you are looking for.
