Big Red Deserves the Best, and These Bulbs Deliver!
Let me introduce you to Big Red—my pride and joy, a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix that’s been with me through thick and thin. Now, Big Red isn’t just any car; he’s a classic, and like any classy gentleman, he deserves only the best. That’s why I couldn’t settle for anything less than these SYLVANIA 9005 SilverStar Ultra High Performance Halogen Headlight Bulbs.First off, I’m a huge fan of Amazon’s “like new” products. Why pay full price when you can get something that feels brand new for a steal? These bulbs were another win in my streak of like-new purchases. They arrived in perfect condition, and the only thing that could’ve made it better is if they came with a “Big Red Approved” stamp. Now, as for the bulbs themselves—uh, YASSSS! Why buy just one when you can treat Big Red to the pair he truly deserves? Installing them was like giving Big Red a fresh pair of eyes. And let me tell you, the road has never looked brighter (literally). These bulbs light up the night like Big Red is cruising straight out of a Fast & Furious movie.I don’t know who’s happier—me, because I can see everything in crystal-clear brightness, or Big Red, because he’s got that extra swagger now. He’s practically strutting down the street with his new lights, turning heads like the champ he is.So, if you’re on the fence about upgrading your headlights, don’t hesitate. Your car, especially if it’s as legendary as Big Red, deserves the best. And these SYLVANIA bulbs? They’re the high-performance cherry on top of an already sweet ride.

Great OEM replacement bulb and easy to install
I was considering replacing my halogen high beams with LEDs. I decided to just upgrade my OEM halogen with these. My reason was concern about flickering of high beams that also are running lights. It’s a known fact that LED bulbs when used on both low and high beams can have electrical issues. These high beam upgrades appear to be much brighter than our old OEM Philips on our 2019 Toyota Highlander. Bottom line stay with halogen bulbs on cars designed for them. Ok to use LEDS if your car headlights were designed for them. Time will tell how long these will last vs OEM halogen. These are well constructed and give off a whiter light. In time LEDS will improve the driving experience and will replace halogens. Auto manufacturers are going LED on most new models since they use less energy and run cooler while providing a brighter white light. My Toyota Highlander has terrible factory headlights but are still rated acceptable by highway safety standards

Work great. Bright and well priced.

affordable, worth the brightness. = to OEM good thing.
2012 nissan rogue, same brightness as OEM. IF you want brighter than OEM, go LED. Just look up laws first. Also change your headlight lamp assembly before just adding LEDS. THESE WORK PERFECTLY, are very bright, they have a short life span, If you want longer lasting same brightness, I believe Philips bulbs are what you are looking for. Will buy again.

Great improvement. . .
These bulbs are a direct replacement for the high beams on my 2008 GMC Sierra (Denali), and they work wonderfully.By way of reference, I have had this truck for over a year, now, and have always been a bit disappointed by the performance of the stock headlights. I've been hunting for replacement (9005) bulbs for the high beams (and low beams, but that's another review) for months. I have had cars recently with Xenon headlights and wished for something comparable to that degree of brightness and down-the-road visibility. The stock headlight bulbs, though serviceable, are not on the level of what I wanted. Some other aftermarket bulbs I tried were also a disappointment, more so than even the OEM bulbs. So I decided to give these a shot.I'm glad I have these on, now. The packaging states that it can improve up to 50% over existing bulbs. I can attest to at least about a 30% improvement, if not more, in my non-scientific opinion. The best measure I have of this is the fact that the garage to my house is on an alleyway behind my and my neighbors' houses. With the stock bulbs, I could just barely see my garage door, about 5 garages down, as I turned into the alley at night. The light just didn't travel far enough. Now I can not only see my garage door, but also the three past it down the same alley. In addition, the light is whiter than the yellow light put off by the OEM halogens (though still slightly yellow in tint), so not only is the bulb brighter, but it produces a more natural light. It is not, mind you, Xenon headlight intensity or whiteness, but it's approaching that without having to spend hundreds of dollars to change out the whole headlight to an HID model, if they even exist for your application. The only slight downside is that the mounting surface on the back of the bulb that screws into the socket is slightly different from the stock bulbs and the one set of poor aftermarket replacements I tried. This made it a little more challenging to seat the new bulbs into the sockets properly, though only slightly. You may have to work with it a bit.I'm glad I found these and can't recommend them enough.Tip: When installing any headlight bulb, wear some sort of clean gloves. These lights get quite hot when on, and any skin oils that get on the bulb (e.g., fingerprints), will cause the housing to heat up and cool off unevenly and dramatically shorten the bulb life.

Don't expect Sylvania to honor warranty claims
I purchased this product in November of 2024 with the expectation of a 1 year warranty. One of the bulbs burnt out last week and that was 6-15-25. So, I went to Sylvania's website to make a warranty claim- I filled out the form and about an hour later I get an email telling me that they only honor a warranty when it is purchased from an authorized reseller and the reseller I used wasn't - even tho it was the Sylvania Store on Amazon. This is just an informational review that lets people know that you have no warranty after that 30 window of returns on Amazon. Needless to say I wont be purchasing these bulbs again. Buyer Beware!!!

Amber color
I replaced my dim bulbs and they were much whiter and brighter. These bright bulbs that I just bought I expected to be the same but they are not as bright as I expected and are a bit Amber. I replaced them because the brights I had were a bit Amber so it was a waste of money to buy these. They're not really much different than the old ones.
