Highly Recommend
If asked if this novella could be read as a stand alone, I think it could be but honestly it won't have the same impact it did if you haven't read On The Island. So read Book 1 first. So about On The Island... I thought it was great. It was one of the emotional reads - one of the rare ones that I've read more than once. There was a certain element that made it uncomfortable and I did struggle over it but in the end decided to let it go since theirs was a relationship with special circumstances.Uncharted , I also thought was terrific for a couple of reasons. It gave us a different persons perspective of life on the island. While T.J. and Anna's experience was more forced onto them, Owen was there by choice. Owen's experience I thought was more focused on the beauty of the island. A haven of sorts, while T.J. and Anna's experience was the total opposite. My second reason was Owen. He just was one likeable character. Here's this young, intelligent and wealthy guy that could have lived precariously instead he decided he's done with it all. He was determined that he didn't want that lifestyle and he gave it all up. He was also organized about it, he thought of everything. With the relationship he had with his family you would think that he would just leave them empty-handed but he made sure that they were well taken care of while he was away. I also enjoyed his relationship with Calia but I won't go into the details (don't want to spoil it ). The best thing I loved about him... he sought T.J. and Anna out in the end.I also loved that we got a glimpse of T.J. and Anna's life years after their life on the island. After all that they have been through I'm glad that they are still as happy and in love as they were at the end of the first book. I can foresee them going through more challenges in the future and I'm wondering if the author has any more planned after Book 1.5.I thought the author did a wonderful job in setting up this story. And I am grateful that everyone involved was able to find closure. Highly recommend this one.liezelsbookblog.net

Vivid, intimate and revealing. Fans of On The Island will love it!
"Who are you and what do you want?""Just wanted to talk to you and your wife.""Do we know you?""No... My name is Owen Sparks."Wow. It had been oh so very long since I was on the island. On The Island was one of the books I read before I started blogging and I loved it! I loved the experience it gave me, the feelings it stirred within me, the way it totally gripped me for 347 pages of emotional and physical turmoil. This novella is Owen's story. He's the one that built the shack... the person there before Anna and TJ. His story is filled with longing, tragedy, heartbreak and love."Start at the very beginning, Owen." Anna says. "Tell us everything"The story begins with Owen visiting TJ and Anna. It was so good to see them again, to know they were happy as a family. What they went through was so harrowing that my heart fell full to know they got their happily ever after. Soon enough, however, we realize that Owen has a story to tell... a story he is nervous about revealing.Again, this is Owen's story. He tells Anna and TJ about what happened to him on the island... what led him there... what transpired there... and takes them up to the present tense. Tracey Garvis Graves' ability to tell this story vividly is amazing, I really felt like I was there once more. I imagined the same island clearly, felt it, was surrounded by it all over again.Owen's story is gripping and sad. The time he spent there was peaceful, forcing him to look inwards and be happy with himself... with the quiet of the island."I'd sensed that something larger existed. Some sort of awakening that could be achieved only by living in a place virtually untouched by other humans, in total solitude."Everything changes, however, when he meets Calia and her brother, James. Without revealing too much, we learn about everything that happened to him while he was there and it answers the questions we had when we read On The Island.Fans of the first book will be pleased to see the gaps sealed, finally understanding how everything befell prior to Anna and TJ's arrival. The story unfolds slowly, but distinctly, and it took me on this introspective and intimate journey that I really enjoyed. I plowed through this book quickly, but I think you will really love it if you're a fan of On The Island... a book everyone should read!

Passionnant

A wonderful follow-up to On The Island
A journey into the unknown, often in a far-flung, exotic location.Danger.Characters you care about who are thrust into extraordinary circumstances, with considerable suspense as to whether the characters will triumph over the challenges they face. These are a few of the elements that make up a great adventure story. These elements also happen to be provided in wonderful abundance in Uncharted.Uncharted is a companion novella, a follow-up to the author’s runaway bestseller On The Island. On The Island tells the story of an unlikely romance that blossoms when a young woman and an even younger man are stranded for years on a tiny island in the Maldives. While there, they discover a human skeleton and a tiny wooden shack. Uncharted clears up the mystery of the island's deceased previous visitor, while introducing another young couple with a unique and challenging romance of their own.And for all you guys out there, yes, I just used the "R" word. Twice. On The Island and Uncharted are both categorized as Women's Fiction and Contemporary Romance.Trickery, trickery, trickery. Don't be fooled into passing on these reads. I carry a Y chromosome with me everywhere I go and I enjoyed both books tremendously. These stories are much more than boy meets girl; they are legitimate entries in the Action and Adventure category. Both of them kept me up into the wee hours of the morning. The author goes far beyond simply relating events as they take place. Instead she immerses the reader into the adventure so we understand what the experience is like for the characters. We get to feel their fears, their pain, and ultimately, their joy.Uncharted can be read and enjoyed on its own, but I don’t recommend doing so. In my opinion you would be depriving yourself of the best way to experience these captivating stories. Part of the tension I felt while reading the novella was a delicious after-effect of On The Island, and Uncharted includes a few spoilers that relate to the preceding novel. My verdict: 5 out of 5 swaying palm trees

Excellent!!!!
Really don't know what I'm going to do now I've read uncharted and on the island!! I can easily say that this book and on the island are the best books I've ever read by far. They are gripping all the way through, written beautifully and personally from each character. Such a pleasure to read, I didn't think that uncharted could match how good on the island was but it did! The way the characters developed through the story was wonderfully portrayed and it was great to see the way their views, opinions, thoughts and feelings developed and changed throughout the story. An absolute must read for any readers that love a gripping emotional story, absolute top marks.
