Kasa Home Security Camera System Wireless Outdoor & Indoor Camera KC310S2, 1080P HD with Siren, Night Vision, Battery Rechargeable,Works w/Alexa & Google Home

I have had these cameras for 6 months and I don't typically do reviews, but wanted to for this product. The cameras have been used daily (17.5 hours per day, Mon-Fri and 10+ hours per day, Sat-Sun) for almost 6 months before I recharged them. I typically get at least one motion activation on them daily, either UPS, or due to my location in the country, birds and bees checking them out. I was most impressed with the simplicity and functionality of the entire system. My cameras are at each end (outside) of a 100 year old farmhouse with very solid wood walls and framing but they communicate with the hub flawlessly. Also, due to my location, my internet is cellular based mobile data (Mofi 4500 with sim) on a Verizon network and I tried 2 other popular systems before this one that would not send me the camera feeds to my phone due to my internet not having a static IP address. This system works great even with my internet and the app is functional and clean. The notifications are fairly quick to get to my phone when activated and the video quality is very good. For the money this is a great system. I am hoping to find out if I can add more cameras to my hub since I am not sure if that feature is available.

We bought these after owning the Kasa spot indoor cameras for 2 years. Quick and easy setup! Great battery life. Both cameras have been on outside all day and night, with the factory recommended motion sensitivity, since we purchased them 4 weeks ago and their battery life is at 67%! They paired perfectly with our Google home hub and the Kasa app. Picture is pretty clear too. The only downfall is the distance that you can mount the cameras away from the hub. One of our outside cameras could only be placed about 10’ (give or take) from the hub. Mounting it any further would cause the video to go black in the app without an error notice. Luckily we were able to mount it in a different spot and still capture the area we wanted, but it has stopped us from buying more cameras for the backyard. Also, the “siren” isn’t really a siren sound at all, more like a repetitive low volume beeping sound that doesn’t even scare a squirrel. Hopefully they can come up with a better distance range from the hub. Overall we’re happy with our purchase and wish we could purchase two more.

I have the two camera and hub model KC310S2. The camera(s) do have a crystal clear live view. Initial install on my network was simple.The only issue I had was after five days the 2nd camera no longer would connect to the hub. After searching the KB and other blogs I called Kasa support and was on the phone with tech support for approximately 2 hours trying to figure out why the camera would no longer communicate with the Hub. We went through quite a few different actions using the broken camera, working camera, and the Hub to no avail. Finally it was determined the camera was defective and an RMA was issued.After having the camera only 5 days I learned I had to pay shipping cost to send the unit back. I was not happy.Before I packaged the unit I decided to play around with it a few more times. I used a particular series of reset functions and actually got a voice prompt from the camera that walked me through an initialization process. Now the camera is working again. I don't know why the tech after 2 hours couldn't figure this out. This is why I rated tech support only 2 stars.Battery life is great. I've gone over four days and the battery life is still 100%. Keep in mind that if you live stream the battery drains pretty fast. By pretty fast I mean possibly three to four days based on how often and how long you livestream. Also, you can only live stream for approximately 10 minutes before you are prompted to tap ‘continue’. Other cameras I have allow you to live stream 24/7 without interruption.Great night vision, wide field of vision, sound quality very good, and motion detection and alerts are excellent. I recommend this camera system.

I ordered these cameras on a Monday, then received and installed them with little effort on Tuesday. On Wednesday night, I had a "visitor" that caused damage as they tried to force their way into my home. When the police arrived and I was describing the incident, I pulled out my phone and said, "Let's see what the camera picked up" (I hadn't had the chance to check yet). With plenty of video and sound clarity, the police saw what happened and commented, "We clearly have probable cause" and the suspect was found, identity and matching clothing confirmed, and arrested within an hour. While giving my written statement, I also easily downloaded the video and loaded it onto an officer's thumb drive as evidence. I wouldn't wish such an experience upon anyone, but having these cameras made everything go so much more smoothly than it would have otherwise.My only complaint is that the motion sensitivity in its default setting didn't capture the entire incident; the first moments were cut off. But even so, there's more than enough to make the "visitor's" identity and actions plainly visible to anyone who views the video so I am 100% satisfied with my purchase.
