Works smoothly and effectively. This chalk line loads quickly and automatically when extended. Easy to refill with chalk. Convenient and does the job. So much easier and less messy than the traditional approach.

Never realized i needed this until i started using it.
Push button to pull out string, crank to pull it back in. Lay out your line, pop the string and you are good to go.I've had old ones in the past that were all metal. Nothing wrong with it, just misplaced and finally replaced with this one.
