Cherry Red Summer (Emely and Elyas, 1) Paperback – June 24, 2014

This is the story of young love developing. The characters have known each other over a long time. I have been listening via an audible version which in my opinion is very well narrated. Friendship and confused feelings with life seem to abound for the main characters. I'm waiting to see what happens. Not sure I like the premise of a person saying they like someone and e-mailing them then that reeks of stalker in real life... creepy. Perhaps that is the most confusing part of the story line for me. The sexual content is not graphic but suggestive of what is going on in the story. I enjoyed this story but it is not real deep nor does it have a strong beginning to end. I am hoping book two ties up the things that I have read in this book.

I don't like cliff hangers and if I knew this was one I wouldn't have read it. I think that after she found out that it was a misunderstanding between Elyas and her then she should have forgave him. But she still acted like a bitch to him. And I think Luca is Elyas

great book. I really did enjoy this book. I do look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed Cherry Red Summer, and already have the next book in the series ready to read. Emely and Elyas are both adorable and maddening, and I can’t wait to read more of their story!

I very much enjoyed the book but the "surprise ending" left me wanting more.

Found it repetitive. Characters never grew. Simply written. Only finished reading it because I thought it surely has to improve. Won't be reading any more by Carina Bartsch.

Very fun reading bood. Lots of memories bringing back of my school/ college years. Loved it.
