This thing is awesome!! I got rear ended not too long ago and the alarm held up to a speeding F-250 going atleast 50mph. I took it off my old truck and put it on my "new" truck, and it still works like a dream!!

First things first - the picture and some of the description is ambiguous as to whether one or two - You get one for your order of one "set". n As that is all I was expecting, I am OK.I bought this as a replacement for a dead ECCO backup alarm. I thought it would be a simple swap, but it was not. The reason is that the posts on the Federal are much smaller (about #6) and more closely spaced than the ECCO, (about #12 - 7/32) so all my electrical connectors had to be replaced to a smaller size. So a couple of minute job turned into an hour job working under the vehicle and playing with wires in a tight place.Sound is loud enough and a bit on the higher pitch than the ECCO. Further observation, the posts appear to offer a lesser profile for water intrusion as it transitions to the epoxy block as compared to the dead ECCO. But only time will tell if that observation is correct.

When it comes to vehicle safety items, you can't be cheap. This Federal Signal back up alarm fits the bill well for my work trucks. 97 decibels is loud enough for most environments to get people's attention. However, there are still people that don't pay attention to the alarm, so you always have to double check your surroundings.This alarm has been installed on for one week as of this review, and is holding up to the weather and dirt well.On a side note, I did wire in a switch so that I can turn the alarm off from inside the cab as I wish. Plowing residential driveways in winter early in the morning, some people don't take kindly to the noise of an alarm, so this way I can silence it when needed.

So the photo clearly shows 2 alarms. Not a front and back view, but two front views. One is wired in the photo and one is not. So what are you going to get if you order this product? There was only one alarm in my box and it was not the wired one. So I guess you are buying an alarm and it might come with wires attached and it might not. So just like the other reviews say, you only going to get one alarm. I guess you have a 50/50 chance of getting wires, who knows? I will need to run some wire as this is a new install. The unit feels solid and should work just fine. Good luck on your order and install.

Works great just tied into the backup light wiring and heat shrink the wires and good to go. Good volume as well.
