Really add to your setup
If you’re like me, you have the monster 4K TV, 4k HDMI 2 way receiver, 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound dialed in and looking for something extra.Well, I spent about $700 and about 1 week getting the configuration right so the HD10 and doubly vision worked again but it most certainly adds a new level to your movie or gaming experience. It’s WAY WAY over priced for lights but it does come with a 2 year warranty

Has a total wow factor!
This feature combined with additional hue lights when creating an “entertainment area” in the sync app is amazing. It doesn’t take long to get used to the added lighting element. It’s really easy to control, adjust brightness and intensity. I’m planning to purchase a second one for our master bedroom sitting area. It’s awesome!

Awesome
Easy once I figured out the ARC, adds so much more to movies and really enhances the experience!

Expensive. Won't work with smart TV apps
It was missing the power supply. Luckily I used my existing power supply with the lights. It's expensive for what it offers and must be used with a device using hdmi. You can't utilize with streaming integrated with a smart tv.

Overpriced Euro model
This sync box is grossly overpriced compared to what’s listed on Philips website and ships with an adapter that is used in conjunction with a European plug to make it North American compatible.

Awesome when it works! On my second unit and so far so good. Highly recommend.
When it works, it is very cool. Particularly with the Hue sync play light strip behind the TV. All the lights in the room are setup as an entertainment group. The Hue Play sync App was very easy to use and setting up your lights were simple and intuitive. The App does not have many features but in this case simple is better and it gets the job done. Being now my second unit because the first flaked out, I'm hopeful that it will continue to operate properly as it does add a new dimension to watching movies on the TV. My only real concern is that some content, certain movies do not work with the sync box. A message comes up and tells you so on the tv when you go to order a movie. Seems like a copyright issue in using lights with the film. That's concerning as more studios become savvy they may charge more to watch those movies or Hue may make a deal with a studio or two and limit what the lights can be seen with. It does seem to work on all Netflix movies. Your out of luck casting from your smart tv directly though. It has to go from a cable box into the sync unit or you can plug a chrome cast or TiVo dongle into it and use it from there.Highly recommend, just can be quirky at times like all other technology...
