CanoScan 9000F - I Found What I Never Had
Apparently I never had this negative holder when I bought the Canon scanner back years ago. And I never needed it until I began digitizing my photo "collection" It works great as long as you have the software for the scanner installed and up to date.

Not flat
As others have mentioned, the tray is not flat. It arrived packaged well, but it does not lay flat on the scanner. The issue seems to come from the injection mold. The Canon scanner does not push the tray down, so some scans are not top quality.

Hard to open and close
It helps keep the negative flat but is frustrating to open and close, several contact points.

Seems identical to the original frame.
I could not see any difference between this and the original. I found myself wondering if this where Canon got theirs.

Not quite flat
When I opened the package my initial reaction was this was an excellent match with the original CanoScan film tray. I loaded 35mm film and placed it on my 8800F. It didn't feel as firmly locked into position as the original. I took a close look down the side of the carrier and can see a slight bow in the tray.

Ehhhh kinda works.
Very flimsy and crops the film a bit. If you need one and don't care about it just need it cheap then sure. But you get what you pay for.

Works like Canon original

Warped - difficult to use
Avoid this junk. Canoscan negative holders (both this 35mm and the 120 size) are designed to set into two guides, one on each end, to lie flat on the glass. This product DOESN'T do that - it's bowed in the middle so neither end sits flat! As a result, even the most careful placing of the holder is slightly off. The sensor can't quite pinpoint the area to scan. Either it tries to scan too much or too little. Resetting it manually takes three times as long as automatic sensing - and that's assuming it stayed straight enough and didn't sway so much that it's crooked. Huge disappointment. DO NOT BUY!
