Super classy - one of the nicest multi-function pens out there.
Really nice combo! Pentel makes good products, but this one is classy, even for them. Good combination of tips, feels great in the hand, has a nice big eraser (under a cap) and even looks good just laying on the table. I sort of like/dislike the continuous cycle through tips. I'm used to every other pen where it clicks in one direction, and back in the other. This one just continues to go around, which means finding the right tip by feel is not easy. Fortunately, their red pen tip has a red band around it. Other than cost (a bit pricey), this is an awesome pen.Update: love this pen/pencil more every day. I now like the continuous cycle (don't have to guess which way to turn), and it is one of the nicer, classier pens on the market. Works awesomely, as I'd expect any Pentel to do. I'm buying two more today. :)Second update: I still really love these. I have several now, and get compliments all the time on how classy they look. I think these are one of the better multi-purpose pens on the market. Now, that being said, I dropped mine on the hard cement floor yesterday and noticed that all of a sudden, my black ink wasn't flowing so well. In fact, it became almost unusable within a half hour. I figured I had just coincidentally run out of ink. After trying to find refills here (they're about four bucks each - ouch!), I found other people had commented that their ink had stopped flowing after being dropped (all black, weirdly). I'm guessing that the Vicuna "ball" inside the ink tube gets dislodged and the ink doesn't flow well. I may try slapping it around a bit (that's always the solution when something doesn't work -- whack it!), but I've ordered a couple refills just in case. This is the ONLY bad thing I've noticed about this pen. If it's a trend, then perhaps this is a manufacturing defect. I'm still likely to keep buying these, though, because they're better than all the competition. Write on! :)

Great pen for those who need a multi-pen
This is a great value for a multi-pen with smooth writing black and red ink, along with a mechanical pencil. I like the feel and function of this pen a lot. In fact, I bought a second one just to have a spare handy.

Vicuna or Evolt? I've used them both.
My 1st multifunction pen was an Evolt. Took several good drops until one day it landed just right and broke the plastic threaded section holding it together. I've been using a Vicuna for about 1/2 year now. I wish I could take the best of both pens and make one good one. To me, they both have pros and cons.Vicuna Pros- Slightly smaller, good solid assembly, nice stock ink (but can put in any refills). Cons- Eraser cap is screwed onto cheap plastic- being careful not to strip threads, but making tight enough so I don't lose it. Some people like the non-stop spinning of the barrel- me, not so much (see below) plus it doesn't have a strong snap when retracting the ink or pencil. I'm waiting to write on my shirt because it didn't fully retract. Rounded tip is a little hard to focus around.Evolt Pros- I like the fact that it has a stop both direction. Once you get used to it, turn it to the stop, then turn back to your desired ink or pencil without having to look at the tip to see what you have out. A little annoying on the Vicuna to me that you always have to look at the tip to see what's out. Evolt has metal threads on eraser cap and an o-ring to help cap from coming off- great design. I actually like the pointier tip. Cons- a little larger than Vicuna. Stock ink not as nice, but can insert anything. Definitely the threaded plastic holding it together- weak design that can break if dropped just right. Now if only someone made a pen with these pros in this price range......

Best pen/pencil combo for the price I have found.
This is a beautiful pen/pencil all-in-one and has been very reliable. It works just as well if not better than the Cross Tech3 I used to own for a much more reasonable price.

Blows away the B3 aviator pen.
This is a great pen for maintenance personnel in the Airforce. I used to use the standard b3 aviator, not any. Ore this is much better and cheaper.

pencil jams
Pens work fine, but the pencil lead gets jammed up
