Old one was from 2006. Hooked new up, put in battery and it works perfectly.

I bought this for an older (old?) Char Broil grill: 463251605The electric starter fit perfectly. The electrodes are a tad long. You can cut them down or just bend one over if they are too long. I wanted the arc to be lower than it would have so I bent one. I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn’t pull it back out to cut them but I will. I only needed to replace the igniter and main electrodes, which are plug and play. The wire was plenty long.

Updated November 2022The merchant reached out to me and explained through photographs that the ground wire must be in contact with the igniter's sparker base. It appears to be working as designed now. I hope this information is beneficial to anyone looking to purchase this product.Original Review:The spark occurs between the 2 connectors where the ground and ignitor wire exit the unit not at the ignitor.Replacement unit has same problem. Very concerning & dangerous manufacturing defect.If the unit were properly manufactured it would be a good value.See photo of arcing

The second pin is supposed to be a ground. But it is poor quality and instead of arc'ing at the tip of the wire it arc's between the two pins on the device. This is a major fire hazard waiting to happen and Amazon should remove this product immediately.

Unbelievably easy to install. Fires up every time even a year later. Extremely durable feeling construction, does exactly as it says.
