It's not too thick, it's almost like that sleek, thin cooling material. The black background is a true black, it's not faded at all and it contrasts well with the image overlay. I ordered these socks with a picture of a dog instead of a human and the image still came out well. These are so cute and would make a good sentimental or even gag gift for the right person. I would say these are good quality for the price, I was expecting a much lower quality when I ordered. I plan on ordering another pair of these in the future.
