It works
I love this stripper, its made my life so much easier. I have quite a significant disability, so doing DIY is extra challenging. I have Edwardian doors and hardware in my house that have been painted over multiple times that I wanted to restore. I started with the hardware and this little tub of stripper to see if it works. This stripper worked like a charm. I left it on 12 hrs and that got the bulk of the paint off with very little effort. 2nd application removed all the paint. The gel formula means I could work vertically, it doesn't drip and you can get into really awkward bits like the inside of a key hole. Apply with a brush dabbing it rather than brushing works well, be generous. Cover it with plastic, I used a carrier bag that i cut up and masking tape. Leave it for 12-24hrs, scrape it off, give it a scrub with a wire brush (I used a dental pick for the details) and you're there. It's worked so well on the hardware, I've ordered more so I can strip the whole door. I used maybe 1/4 of the tub, doing multiple applications (i didn't read the instructions properly), for multiple layers of paint you leave it longer. For me, as a person with limited mobility and strength, this works really well and is well worth the money.

Stripper is amazing BUT damaged from delivery
I don’t want to deduct a star because it’s the best paint/wax/varnish stripper I’ve ever used. I upcycle furniture and it gets everything off without damage and I can even do it on the kitchen worktop with my kids running around (I don’t, but I could!) and no gloves or mask because it’s totally safe. The stripper is brilliant and this is the 2nd time I’ve bought this in 2 weeks but, whether it’s the seller or the couriers fault, I don’t know - the lid was loose and the product had leaked all over the inside of the plastic packaging/bubble wrap. It’s not a great thing to have to clean up when you’ve just been woken up early from your only lay in in the week, for the delivery, and if I didn’t love the actual stripping power of the product so much I would be furious. I’ll continue to use this stuff and always buy it. But come on - sort the lid out or find new ways of securing it. Or find a new courier!!!I’m just glad I’m not clearing up toxic stripper - I suppose I have that to be thankful for!

Fast, effective and easy
We bought this to upcycle a coffee table we bought. It was painted in a chalk paint, and turned out to have 3 layers of paint. One 1L bucket was perfect and at £20, was excellent value for money. On one application (not too thick a layer) was enough to get through all the layers. It took a bit of work to get all the layers off evenly, but we got through it easily enough.Once we had finished scraping the paint off, a quick rinse with water got any leftover residue off and cleaning the product out of the paintbrush we used to apply it was easy as well. The photo attached is after the first application and scraping. I would recommend going section by section - trying to do too much at once leads to frustration!

Does not work well with emulsion.
Good points: Easy to apply. Brush washes easily with soap and water. Very little smell when applied. Works ok with wood paint as long as it is wrapped with cling film and left for a while.Bad points: Can take many coats to work. Tried it with emulsion paint. Old Tenants had used this on shower room ceiling. Applied paint remover and did not bubble like I would have expected. Photo shows after 12 hours. Paintwork is 'hard' ( ie not flaking or rubbing off) and completely dry to touch. No difference.

Pointless
Ok so I bought this to renovate original doors for my flat. It claims to be odourless and non toxic and efficient. My thought process was why bother using my hot gun when I can just splatter this over the doors, wait an hour and peel it off. Plus I have 4 cats so the non toxic element was a plus.In reality this is useless for its purpose. The only plus is that it was delivered swiftly (mind you, I spent £22 to get the bigger pot and get a next day delivery). And it is non toxic and doesn’t smell. But that’s about it. Might have as well put moisturiser on my doors, it’s that ineffective. I put it on with a brush to make sure I got even and thorough coverage. Waited an hour. Barely peeled ( not even like when you peel off dead skin from a sunburn). It slightly bubbled in places but nothing to be impressed about. And yes I tried with a scrapper and the wired sponge they recommend. So I tried again, applying more, leaving it longer. Same thing. I thought maybe it will work better on metal so I applied it to the original door handles as someone had slapped paint all over them too, to see. Same thing a.k.a pointless. I eventually gave up because I had 2 doors to deal with ( I actually got a third one but at this point I am trying not to lose the will to live); I picked up my old hot gun and paint just came off like a dream.I really wanted this to work but unfortunately it didn’t. I lost hours and money I won’t get back. Might work on fine furniture to remove wax or light varnish but defo not fit if you need to remove layers of paint.NB: sorry I thought I had another picture to share but I can’t find it.

Works on very specific things only
This paint stripper was great for lightly painted surfaces, taking off stain on wood where it was applied against the grain, and the top layer of paint on skirting boards. Any more than that though and it did nothing, even after I tried leaving it different amounts of time, wrapping in cling film, etc. overall not great but can’t be returned.
