The Tribal area rug collection has two distinct directions. One is extremely colorful, with horizontally striped runners and area rugs whose designs derive from Persian flat-woven textiles. The other vector is based upon Baluchi prayer rugs from North East Persia or Afghanistan. In addition, other nomadic influences from the Caucasus and South Persia contribute to this wide-ranging collection.
