The only stapler you will ever need
Here is the thing with staplers. They are cheap to buy and there is plenty of choice. You can buy a stapler for £10.50. My advise; pay the extra £14.48 and you will save yourself from a lot of frustration. This Rapid stapler is made in Sweden, its construction is sturdy and of good quality and its ergonomics really good. It also performs flawlessly and effortlessly. I actually cannot believe it costs less than £25 to buy. I reckon they probably sell loads and the manufacturing costs are pretty low as its design has remained unchanged for decades and for good reason. My verdict; this is possibly the only manual stapler you will ever need either for tasks around the house or for professional use.

Value for money, and works.
I've always used the Arrow T50 stapler. But they seem to make staplers which jam from new these days.So I ordered one of these, it takes the same size staples. Jam-free, makes a nice ring on each ping, 8mm staples go in pretty much all the way into softwood (through canvas), you can always finish off any proud staples with a small hammer. It came with 2000 8mm staples, too, so ready to go!It has an adjuster, too, so I guess I should wind it up a bit and see whether the staples go in further. And if you don't mind paying a bit more, the DeWalt range are good. The 2-in-1 model which is not their cheapest (and strangely expensive at the moment on Amazon) is a best buy in my book. I've tried it and it has the most convincing action of all, a 'soft-touch' to the trigger handle, and the staples go in with a neat 'snap'. Very efficient, and uses the same T50 (or equivalent) size staples. DeWalt also do a cheaper 5-in-1 model which I haven't tried.

Better than the cheap ones
We were refurbishing our motor home and had a cheaper staple gun from Argos ,which we found was hard work and bending a lot of the staples . Bought this which was a bit more expensive and had good reviews , you can tell the difference straight away , easy to use and works every time , I got some rapid staples to go with it and we are now flying along and everything looks neat !

This is the one.
Had several budget staplers from DIY stores over the years. An upholsterer recommended this Rapid - it is really good. Never jammed or misfired yet, plenty enough power to fully sink 6 and 8mm staples into softwoods, not tried it into hardwoods yet.I strongly recommend you get the Rapid staples for it - I've been told that the various generic ones around are far more likely to jam etc.Highly recommended - the upholsterer replaced hers after about 12 years (due to internal wear) and she is using it day in, day out - more in a year than I'll ever use mine I expect.

Did the job for me
I saw a few people complaining about this, of course there will always be disgruntled people no matter how good the product, but I was a little reticent about whether I should buy it.I used this to staple fabric onto wood. It does require a bit of hand strength, and I felt the weight distribution by way of the handle wasn't balanced correctly, but I guess you do get what you pay for; so if you have weak hands, or really big hands, then you'd prob be better off paying extra for a nicer one. But if you need a cheap and cheerful staplegun and don't mind a bit of elbow grease, this is a perfectly fine tool for the job.
