Q: would you recommend buying 2 of these vs. a single bic america f-12 at 200.00+ for playing music loud?

I replaced one of my subwoofers with this back in the summer. I went from a 65 watt to this 120 watt subwoofer and have a unique setup that is clean and efficient (independent high end car amps going to in wall speakers sets - when I added this powered subwoofer to the mix it filled in the bass I needed (at about half volume and quarter frequency it provides a lot of bass and keeps up with high decibel level of speakers). I bought another one of these in November for my brothers birthday, he has a normal in home amplifyier and high end 7.1 speakers that put out clean sound with no distortion at high levels - this one subwoofer more than does the job. I looked into higher watt subwoofers before buying for brother and decided this was the best subwoofer for the 100-120 price point- many of the subwoofers for 50 bucks more claimed higher watts but were taken apart by others and showed to be much less - Watts really have nothing to do with it though. In your case I would recommend picking one of these up - the reason I love these is there is an output going out from it which you can add another (you can chain up as many as needed for even more bass - 2 of these for 200-240 combined will be more efficient and put out better bass that a single bic america f-12, and you may only need one of these, if it doesn't do the job get another - I play music at loud levels and have been dealing with top end car subwoofers all my life (stuff you cant buy at best buy etc - Jlw6 etc) - One of these did the job for me, I might pick up another and chain it to other in other room corner for the heck of it. It is the best subwoofer under 200 in my opinion.

Thank you for your question. Check to see if there is anything inside of the port which is located at the bottom of the enclosure. Although its rare sometimes a piece of the shipping material can end up in there causing unwanted noise. Aside from that you can check the speaker grill to make sure its on securely.
