RG360 Empathy RHS Endorsed 360g Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi & Ltd Empathy RHS Endorsed 500g Bulb Starter with Rootgrow

I bought this as they always talk about it on gardening shows as being good for the roots of new plants. It’s easy to use, just sprinkle in the bottom of a hole or directly on the roots and plant in the usual way. I now assume if a plant grows well and is strong/healthy it’s because I have used this. It’s basically good bacteria for the roots and helps to establish a strong root system.

I’ve purchased (at recommendation by and from a rose grower) this summer, and used these mycorrhizal pellets, and subsequently was impressed by the growth of at least two of the roses.Bit fiddly to use as I not only pour into the planting hole but try and pack some pellets round the sides. You need to apply directly to the roots.However. Was very disappointed to find one of my two packets with burst side seam and spilled pellets. This i feel means their shelf life is much reduced and as I intended using the pellets mainly come the spring.Two attempts to contact seller and no response unless the response is in an obscure place I haven’t accessed

Effectiveness yet to be determined

Great value for money also use this product all the time when planting it gives the roots an extra boost

I've been using Rootgrow for nearly 10 years now and I don't plant out anything without it now. I even add it to bulbs and plants that will be living permanently in pots.The plant health benefits of Mycorrhizal Fungi are well documented, and when I first started using it I did some trials of my own with identical plants in the same location, some with Rootgrow and some without. The growth and overall health of the plants using the Rootgrow was visibly better and since then I've never stopped using it.Being able to get it on Subscribe and Save with Amazon is great, and it's about the cheapest way to get hold of it these days (unless you're going to buy one of the massive 5 litre tubs).By the way, it's worth noting that they also make an "ericoid" version of Rootgrow specifically for ericaceous (i.e. lime hating / acid loving plants), so get that version if you're planting up anything like that.

I use Rootgrow every time I plant a shrub or perennial (unless it’s an acid loving plant as it doesn’t affect them). I’ve had great results, with plants establishing well and quickly. If it’s good enough to be used in RHS gardens, it’s good enough for me!
