For Metatarsal bone
It is excellent if you have a broken metatarsal bone in your foot. I even went hiking and climbing stairs with it and did not damage the bone. I recommend it.

Not a pair
Works well but this is not a pair! It is only one pc for one foot so beware when buying this is only one

Size selection box information inaccurate but good insole
For shoes with a removable insole, this is very rigid insole that can be inserted underneath it. For me, it's much more comfortable than wearing a post-op shoe. Even though it's super thin, it takes up a lot of space in your shoe. Your shoe has to be flat and really roomy (like a tennis shoe) to accommodate the insole. The information in the boxes where you select a size to order appears to be incorrect. I ordered a "9.45 Inch, SHOULD fit W's size 7.5-8 & M's 6.5-7" (which is equivalent to an EU38) but received an EU37. When ordering, it was confusing because with the "9.45 Inch, SHOULD fit W's size 7.5-8 & M's 6.5-7" (or EU38) box selected, one of the photos showed the dimensions for an EU37. I assumed the size selection boxes were correct and the picture was incorrect, but I think it's actually the other way around. Based on my experience, my best guess is that the sizing information in the picture represents the size that will be shipped. Fingers crossed for my reorder.

This is totally unnatural and the wrong approach.
Instead of getting these for an arthritic big toe, get foot massage or do PT or reflexologist (foot massage) so that you can bend your foot as much as possible. In time, the pain goes away and you'll have some flexibility.I got the idea for these from a podiatrist, but my PT, physiatrist, massage therapist thought they were a bad idea. So glad I returned these.

Worth the buy!
Great product! I had been wearing a post op shoe for the last month and my orthopedic said to get a carbon fiber insole to insert into my regular shoe and to wear for the next 6 weeks. I fractured my foot and am in the recovery process and this insole is amazing and works great. There's barely any give to the insole which is what I need so I'm very comfortable walking around with it and not nervous about potential reinjury.

Worth the money
Yes, it's "just" a hard piece of black carbon in the shape of a foot, but it works. It is hard enough that your foot will not bend when you walk. I had a 5th metatarsal fracture and was sick of the boot and the postop shoe.I bought these and used them in a large sneaker with an insole over them (for comfort). Take a look at my other review for that insole. It was a tiny bit less stiff for the overall foot than the boot or postop shoe, but it worked well for after the 6 week mark. My doctor was fine with it!I had to immobilize the foot for 12 weeks, and this insert did a way more comfortable job for the last six weeks of recovery. I highly recommend it for when you feel stable enough to try walking properly again, and want to break the bad walking habits from the boot or postop shoe.
