The Upside of Falling: A Fun and Flirty Teen Romance

The Upside of Falling
Most of the books that I read usually have some form of steamy scenes in them and there's only a very small amount of authors that I will read a "clean" romance from. Alex Light is one of them.I first read this book when it was initially released on the Episode Interactive app and absolutely devoured it. I would set timers so that I knew when I would have more passes so that I could carry on reading it. I think I read it on this app about 4 times before I found out that it had been added to an app called Wattpad, which I had never heard of before, so I decided to give it a go. There, I was introduced to my favourite version of the book that I, again, read multiple times over the years. So when I found out that it was being published, I knew that I had to get a copy of it on my shelf. There is so many things that are different in the book compared to the other two copies but they are all amazing in their own ways. I love the idea of Brett and Becca fake dating and their initial friendship that quickly turns into something more. I definitely would've loved for this book to be a bit longer so that we could see some of the original scenes but what it was replaced with made up for that.I would definitely recommend this book, despite the mixed reviews. I have read it so many times over the past 6 or so years that still swear by it.

Fun and cute
Becca gets trapped in her lie when she claims to have a (non-existent) boyfriend to her former best friend, now annoying acquaintance. Unfortunately (or luckily) for Becca, Brett, her handsome and popular classmate, overhears her lie and swoops in for his own good: pretends to be Becca’s boyfriend to get his family and friends off his back for not dating in high school.Yea, this is a familiar plot but I found it thoroughly enjoyable. It addresses family issues from both main characters’ which I enjoyed and thought that it helped to develop the characters and made me gain an empathetic understanding of their lives. This is quite insta-lovey as well as friends to lovers so if you enjoy that trope, you should definitely check this one out.The other thing I like about this book is the title! It really stuck out to me, and I kept thinking back to read it even though I did not know what it was about. However, I must say that there are a few cringe worthy moments but it’s not bad.Overall, this was quick, fun and I liked reading it.

Some things don't make sense
Becca's dad left her and her mum when she was little, but still lives in the same town. The town is also tiny, there's a huge paragraph describing how small it is. So I just don't really get why they wouldn't have run into each other in all the years that he left. Also, this is gonna sound ridiculous but I feel like they got along too well and that there wasn't really much that specifically made their fake relationship interesting. In addition to this, I feel like there was nothing really against them, and that also contributed to their relationship being mediocre. Otherwise, the book is good, but it isn't a favourite; it's perfect if you're looking for a light read

Just one thing
I am addicted to this book it has such a great storyline and very cute characters I just have one thing that I don’t like. My book came a little ripped up on the edges which draws your attention on the rips then the actual book. However overall it is a great book and it’s is also a very floppy book meaning no damaged spine!

I'll get over it.
I have just received my book today and was really excited until I opened the package to find the book damaged. Only a small area at the back of the book- the cover has teared at the bottom. But, I'm still excited to give this book a read. Let's hope this cheers me up!
