Quality flashlight, bargain price but rotten O-rings. Plan on immediate replacement.
This is an extremely small but versatile flashlight. It is exactly two inches longer than the palm of my hand. It's small enough that you can keep it in your bag or your pocket. The price is low enough that you can buy several and stash them in handy locations. It actually outperforms a flashlight 3x its price except for the intensity of the light beam. It has multiple modes which make it useful as a personal flashlight during emergencies like floods and earthquakes.I'm using it with a rechargeable lithium battery which makes quite a difference. The beam stayed at full intensity for about 8 hours. After that it started to dim gradually. At 10 hours, it was clear that the light intensity was dropping. I kept the beam on for 12 hours for the next two days. The amount of light kept dropping but it was still putting out light after 36 hours. After that there wasn't much point. the light was too dim to be useful for anything so I called it quits. But if you are interested in stocking an emergency kit, you'll want to consider adding lithium batteries. It has an adaptor which will hold 3 AAA batteries but I haven't used it yet.The build is very sturdy. The metal body is heavy, The glass lens is incredibly thick. There are some O-rings but they don't look substantial enough to me. But it does screw down firmly and precisely. It may be fully waterproof as advertised.Update: I'm afraid even with light use, the 0-ring has already broken. Easy enough to replace but get a better quality replacement. Should you shrug this off? I've never replaced an O-ring on the MagLight and it's been decades. I've docked a star from my rating. As for the price? Incredible. I've been checking low-cost flashlights at various hardware stores for the last few days. It stands heads and shoulders above the competition at this price point.

What I like about this design was the band that glows in ...
Arrived on May 22, 2017, at the moment using AAA x3 batteries. Compared it to a $79.00 Trek LED flashlight for bicycles, no comparison; this Rockbirds 5 modes tactical flashlights are brighter. Originally purchased five days ago and at that time cost $4.99, it might behoove you to know; the next day the cost went up to $9.99 immediately. What I like about this design was the band that glows in the dark. Tonight will take it out of a night walk around the neighborhood. Will update this review if anything happens that might reflect negatively.

Works for what I needed it to do.
Overall, its a very good flash light so far. I've only personally used it once, but it was a gift for my mom who has lots of chickens and such, and also works night shift, so she doesn't often get to tend to them until its dark out, otherwise my dad does it during the day. She's been using those cheapo $2 Walmart flash lights that barely put out any light... which is why she's never really wanted to spend money on a better one because "they'll all just be this crap".So, since at work I have the 'original' model of this flash light, which works AMAZINGLY well, I figured I'd give this one a try since its basically the same exact thing. The only downside to this flash light 'so far', is that with the standard 3 AAA batteries, it isn't all that bright. I mean its DEFINITELY brighter than most other flash lights, but compared to mine, its pretty dim with just 3 AAA. BUT, mine is just as dim if you put 3 AAA in it to.Instead, I use one of those rechargable batteries people tend to use in their Mods for Vaping. I can't remember the model of it off the top of my head... But its black with yellow tips, and pretty big. It fits loosely in my flashlight, but firmly enough when the back cap is screwed on that it doesn't move around at all. AND its nearly twice the brightness with only 'slightly' more voltage than 3 AAA. This same exact battery fits snugly inside this flashlight. It sticks out about a centimeter/quarter of an inch, and gets firmly squished down when you try to screw the back cap on. BUT again, twice the brightness with very little increase in overall voltage. Well within the spec I'd say. I kind of want to say that these flashlights were 'meant' to run on these batteries, but its just cheaper for them to include a 3 AAA battery holder than it is to include a nice battery. Plus maybe its a shipping hazard they aren't rated for or something...But overall, with the better battery, this flash light is AWESOME... Definitely worth the 7 bucks I paid for it when it was on sale. And even at 9-10 dollars, I'd say this is DEFINITELY worth it. Its BRIGHT with the better battery, and its REALLY good even with 3 AAA batteries. Unlike mine, the telescoping head actually stays in place like it should. Mine the seal has broken off after years of use, so it just slides back and forth easily. But hey, I like it that way cause I have to use it one handed 90% of the time.Oh, one more thing. It has that glow in the dark ring around it. Its kinda neat, but its flakey. As in, the glow isn't consistent. Its like they just took the glow in the dark powder and tossed it into the container of their liquid whatever that seal is made from, stirred it maybe twice, and then injected it into the molds. From a distance its fine and you can't really tell. But when its in your hand, it just looks like a ratty old O-Ring that's been chewed on by radioactive rats.So yea, buy this thing if you ever wanted a pretty darn good flash light. and if you want a really darn good flash light, go to your local vaping store, buy that Black n Yellow battery, shove it into this flashlight, and watch as suddenly everything is twice as bright.Oh, did I mention that because the head telecopes you can see for MILES away?! Yes that's an exaggeration! But still! I use mine when I let the dog outside mostly. And I use it one handed because A) the leash is in the other hand, and B) I have my 9mm with me thanks to coyotes. My flash light (and this one too) can focus that beam REALLY well.. like DARN well. You can see the actual pattern of the LED Chip on this one! (mine is just a slight blur, but you can still make out the chip). Because of this, when I'm outside, I can focus it on the tree line near the creek and sweep it back and forth to see if anything is lurking. And I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen a Coyote or possum out there hunched down staring back at me. . . If it weren't for my flash light (which this one is based off of it seems), either me, or my dog, would be coyote chow.

Sounds like a scam from China
The flashlight comes in a box with only a label. No instructions. So you have to look on the Amazon listing to see how it works. It also comes with a battery holder for three AAA batteries. I first put in new AAA batteries and took it outside and compared it to my 200 Lm flashlight and there wasn't a lot of difference. After some research it seems that to get the full power you need to use rechargeable 18650 battery which is 3.7v instead of the AAA 1.5v.. I bought 2 with a charger on Amazon for $16 and tried the light again. Now it is substantially brighter then my 200 Lm light. As I used it more I started to really like it because it has the zoom feather, and the hi / low setting. It is brighter than any flashlight I have ever seen. Also you buy no more AAA batteries. It does seem to be well made. Just remember that instead of $10 it is really about $26 to get what you are looking for with a spare 18650 battery.

Powerful little flashlight
I bought this flashlight for my walking commute home, which has no streetlights. I needed something portable and bright and this little flashlight does the trick! It's very bright and can cast light over a wide area, illuminating my path. It's also compact and lightweight, which means that I can easily carry it with me with no problem. I am very satisfied with this flashlight and definitely recommend for anyone who is walking outside in the dark.As a bonus, the flashlight can "zoom" - and if there's some fog / mist in the dark, it feels like a lightsaber.
