Perfect!
This leash is exactly what I was hoping for to run with my dog! The long length is perfect for my pup to explore while still very manageable to handle. Very comfortable around my waste and very sturdy product. Would definitely recommend!

Great leash for hiking hand free
To start with, IMHO, Ruffwear is the very best producer of dog products out there. Their stuff is high quality and lasts forever. This is the second one of these leashes I have purchased - the first one I've had for almost ten years - and the only reason I'm buying another one is because I got tired of the color of the first one lol. I hike a lot with my dogs, and like to use hiking poles. It's impossible to do that holding a leash. This leash attaches around me, and then to my dog, or dogs with a leash splitter, and I'm hands free to use a pole or poles and the dogs have enough space in front of me to navigate rocks or logs on their own. I can't imagine hiking without this leash - and I love the bungee part. Also, the traffic handle is an absolute must.

Great for running
I use this leash to run with my 40lbs. Standard Poodle. I clip it to her martingale collar, and it a great set up for us. The waistband is easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. We don’t need to bungee often as she’s pretty good at keeping a loose leash, but once in a while a rabbit is just ok tempting, and in those cases the bungee is key to keep us both from getting hurt before I can refocus her. I also love the handle loop near the clip on the leash so I can easily keep her close if I need to.I recommend getting the longer length unless you want your dog right next to you. Shorter wouldn’t work for us. Very happy with this leash- we use it almost daily, and I would definitely recommend as a great hands free option.

Excellent leash!
Well-made, versatile, attractive. I have a strong, bouncy dog who occasionally needs to try to chase the rabbits (as one does), and this leash really reduces the impact of the pulling. I couldn't be happier with this leash.

Fits well, but need a little more length
Once you get this set for your waist, it is great for running or walking. However, there isn't a lot of length left if you're bigger than a 27-30" waist.

Ruffwear Roamer Leash Then & Now
Best leash for trail running, hikes, or just gallivanting about areas where dogs are not limited to sidewalk widths. To me, these inspire confidence and control in impulsive pups (my opinion) who are still learning the rules. The allow escape routes for walking two pups if one happens to be over reactive when they see stranger dogs. It has the grab handle near the collar/harness so to allow fast intervention when needed. Compared the 12 yo Roamer to this new tri-color version and could not be more thrilled with the updates. You can see the bungee is woven much tighter, and while it's taken me time to get used to the extra spring this creates, my dog cannot "roam" too far from me due to this, and he is learning the limits more quickly than he has walking for weeks on the older, more relaxed/albeit also stretched out version. My star deduction is due to the clasp. Wish the clasp was a carabiner instead of this tiny little swivel clip. It seems easy to undo and in trying to connect the leash to BOTH the Ruffwaer Flagline Harness (check my review of that as well as to the Ruffwear Chain Reaction Martingale collar, it is a tight fit and I worry that when pulling hard, the overlapping metal could be easily opened. It is just not as secure as a carabiner. Would love if Ruffwear could customize mine with a swivel carabiner instead - which they may need to invent first. As a decades long Ruffwear believer, this company knows what type of gear is needed to keep dogs safe while adventuring with them. None of my items have ever failed and they seem to keep the best aspects and only update what will make the products better. Performance over profit. ? Perhaps. But pups over price any day. And that's what they bank on.

Works well!
This is a great way to walk the doggo hands free. Have used it on several hikes. If your dog has issues with leash pulling and walking in front of you, get the longer option, especially if you are going to be descending a steep grade on a hike. The short one would be a good option on flat ground and if your dog has very good leash manners and tends to walk alongside you.

Perfect leash for old or small dogs
Ruffwear does not disappoint. Great leash, light but strong. The bungie part is great for older or small dogs as it gives a bit of buffer before pulling on their necks. The mechanism for putting the leash on is big and strong, making it easy to use and gives confidence it won't give out.The handle is thinly padded and a bit stiff at first but after breaking it in, it is pretty comfortable. It's adjustable so you could put it around your waist.I love the buckle on the handle as it makes it super easy to attach it to anything without having to loop it. When I had two dogs I'd attach both leashes together and detach easily when needed.

Super produit!

Good quality
Well built and good design. Would have preferred the lower loop be a little closer to the end as I'd like a slightly shorter leash, but it obviously can't be the exact size to suit every combination of dog and walker.
