This is a great cover. I bought it because I have a new puppy and she sleeps on my bed. After only 1 month of having it she had an accident! Boy was I glad I had this. I would have needed to take my down comforter to the dry cleaner or worse- I would have needed to throw it away. This cover completely protected my comforter. One thing I'll mention is that washing it was a bit of a chore. Since it's water proof, it actually holds water! Mine was full of water when I got it out of the wash. Also, in regards to the other reviews. I do find that it makes my comforter a little warmer, and it does bunch the comforter a little more than normal, but if your needs really involve have a waterproof cover, these things really aren't a big deal.

Works well, with some caveats
I bought this because our cat will sometimes pee on the bed, and getting cat pee out of a down comforter is a pain.It is waterproof: I tested it in the sink, holding a good quart of water in a fold of the stuff; the other side was bone dry.It is breathable, but not very: If you fold over a pocket trapping air, it will make a balloon that will deflate as you lean on it -- it's like folding up a tent. Air definitely gets through, but not very quickly. It is quiet and supple: On top of a comforter, underneath a fabric duvet cover, you _almost_ don't notice it's there. There's no crinkling sounds, nor does it have a plastic feel through the cloth. (You definitely need some kind of cover, though.)The caveats: The added layer definitely ups the warmth of a comforter. A lightweight comforter becomes toasty; a toasty comforter becomes suffocating. One of the reasons down is so great is that it keeps you warm while breathing freely, so you don't get that sweaty/sticky feeling; this cover negates that to some degree. That said, a down comforter with this cover is still better than a wool blanket. If you need the waterproofing -- and if you need it, you need it! -- then this is the best option I've been able to find.

Doesn't fit standard Size Queen
It doesn't fit a Queen Comforter/Duvet! When I received the package, the package says 86"x86", but Queen Duvets and Comforters are 86"x92". Even when I look up the standard size of a Queen Comforter online it says bigger than 86x86 so I don't understand why a company would make something that doesn't fit the standard... Of course, would be nice if the listing would show the sizes too!

Three Stars
Serves its purpose but makes the duvet much less breathable, therefore very hot!

A year later, I'm still very happy, & ordered a second
[First review; 14 Nov 2014]: Product took a really long time to arrive, but that seemed to be due to postal delays than for anything under the company's control, and the company was responsive to my complaint on the matter. Besides that, the product is as described, and has helped out greatly with a longstanding issue with one of my cats. Thanks.[2nd review, 15 Dec 2015 ]: A year later, I ordered a second one of these, so that I can have a change while I'm laundering the first. This one arrived within 5 days of my placing the order, thanks! I continue to be very happy with this product — I haven't had cat urine bleed through to my bedding since I got my first one last year. I've found that when my cat does pee on my bed (which hasn't happened now for awhile, thankfully, because I close my bedroom door to the cats until I go to bed), I can take care of it pretty immediately by wiping it & spraying it with Nature's Miracle to reduce the smell. There will still be a yellow stain, but laundering completely removes it.I don't insert a duvet within it but use is simply as the top level cover over my other blankets. It's breathable & I've been comfortable both in summer & winter. I'm glad to have a second one now so that I can have a clean one when I need to put the other aside for laundering (which sometimes takes a few days as I have to make a trip to the laundromat).I don't know what issues other people have had who say "this product doesn't work." It has for me, very successfully. Thank you!

Works really well. Adds weight to your comforter but I like that.
I got this to put over my down alternative comforter as my kitten has peed on my bed several times (think it was nerves) when there was construction going on below my apartment. It was too big for my apartment washer/dryer set so I’d have to rinse out the pee where the spot was and haul it to the laundry mat.I used to have a cover similar to this one years and years ago which was just for dust mites (allergy cover). So I New it would make the comforter feel heavier which I like (makes like a lighter weight weighted blanket). The only con I have with it so far is I wish they would have put comforter ties in. My decorative duvet cover has them which makes it nice and way to keep the comforter in place. But the problem is that it’s hard to get the ties to be wrapped strong enough to hold the comforter in place in this cover.

Does its job.
This works VERY well in keeping your mattress dry. I have a dog who pees when he's nervous and I'm so sick of washing my comforter every time he dribbles. Now i don't have to. The only down side is that it's so slippery. Which makes sense. I have this bad boy over my comforter. Then a cotton comforter cover over this...the comforter ends up in a ball all of the time. Still love it. Wish it had a clip or pin to keep the comforter in place though. Also, LOVE the zipper closure!

Works great
We thought we would never be able to use our duvet again since our cat randomly has accidents and we were getting tired of taking the duvet to be cleaned. This has been a great product for us. It's soft and comfortable. The rubber-like membrane on the inside isn't really noticeable from the outside. It has been tested by our cat twice now and nothing has made it through to the duvet itself. It doesn't breath as much as our regular cover but I guess that's the price you pay for having the extra protection. It's a little warm but during the winter that's not a bad thing. I am not sure if we'll use it as much during the warm months. We are extremely happy to have this and would buy another one in the future.
