Great case, exceptionally rugged
I was a little concerned when I bought this case. I use Pelican cases whenever I need the ultimate in protection, but some of the reviews were not very good. I put it together on my phone, with the plastic "screen protector" in place, and in about a week there was a little dirt under the screen protector. After two months, the screen protector seemed to be sticking to my screen—making spots that looked different from the rest of the screen—so I looked online to see how to open the case and remove the protector. Everywhere I looked, reviews said that it was almost impossible to open the case, and people were very frustrated. I found a small slot on the bottom left of the case and used a letter opener to pry the case open, it wasn't hard, and the case opened more easily afterwards. I took out the "screen protector" (which is considered disposable, according to Pelican) and reattached the case without it. It looks a lot better, and the case still protects my phone very well (I have dropped it several times recently without any damage). This case is designed for rugged use, and it works well in everyday situations too.Update: today I took a fall, injured myself, and my phone went flying. It bounced around the concrete sidewalk. The only "damage" is there is a little dirt embedded into the case, the phone is completely undamaged. Now I'm even more glad I bought it!

Cover over charging port locks smooth into place and actually holds - excellant product!
I picked up this up because I have been using pelican cases to lug my camera gear around for years and figured I give their phone case a try based on previous experiences. Secondly, I picked up the special edition"red" color for the 7 plus and I wanted as much of the red to show . I specifically looked for the clear/clear bumper color option. Pelican also offers a clear/gray bumper option as well however you wouldn't get the visible red border that shows through on the sides as with the clear/clear option. Probably not a big deal for most, I particularly like it. So when shopping, it might be worth noting if that's important to you. I have dropped it a few times from about 2 feet up and it held up well. Their is no front face clear screen protector however the 1/8" raised edge on the bumper prevents the screen face from direct contact with the ground in the event your phone falls flat face down. I've had Otter cases and Lifeproof cases in the past and was unhappy with both. What I also really like most about this case is the cover piece for the lightning charge port is built of solid rubber and locks into the case and holds as its supposed too, unlike other cases I've had in the past. Great case, fair price, I would certainly recommend this product.

Worth it!
Pros: it's adorable, and you can put cute stickers in the back without actually putting the sticker on your phone (if you cut them out). It has been very protective. I've dropped the phone several times & neither the phone nor the case has broken. I did not use the plastic front cover that came with the phone & bought a glass screen protector instead. I thought I would never steer away from Otterbox, but I wanted a case I could personalize more & this was it! (I hear there are issues with the OB version that make it hard to hear the person you are speaking to).Cons: This case is a little hard to get open, and I have had a few issues where my phone would not sync (when I first got the phone I could NOT get my backup installed on this new one while the case was on & AT&T almost sent me to a local "repair" type shop to get the issue solved). As soon as the case was removed everything worked fine. They think it had to do with the pressure it put on either a button or the connection. This is obnoxious, but I'd still buy the case again. Outside edge is a little dingy after several months of use, but I've not seen a rubber case that avoided this issue entirely.Overall I love this case!

Great protection, sleek look
I really love the protection that this case provides, while not being as ugly as most rugged cases. My only regret is that I bought the grey border and should've gotten the all clear version. Aside from that, I attached 2 PopSockets: Expanding Stand and Grip for Smartphones and Tablets - Palm Trees on the back and I'm pretty happy with the aesthetic and functionality. Also, I don't drop my phone nearly as often since adding them.As other reviewers have noted, it is/was a pain (literally) to get off--and unfortunately, I've had to removed it a few times because dog hair, lint, and debris get into the case via the camera cut-out. Using a coin definitely helps to open it! But even with the coin, I got so frustrated trying to wrench the pieces apart with hurting fingers and not wanting to break my phone. Finally, I just pulled the two sides apart to the point that I thought that they would break and I would see if Pelican honored their lifetime guarantee, but it didn't break! So now, whenever I open it, I twist the coin to break the "seal" and then just pull the pieces apart, wish bone style, and I haven't had any problems since. However, I once tried to open it with a key (because I didn't have a coin) and ended up scratching my phone :( so don't use that method.UPDATE: I ended up also buying (and returning) the clear version. The TPU rubber on the edge was already yellowed when I got it. So, probably best to choose one with some color border to avoid the yellowing of a clear one.

Good case. Not great, just good.
I am a pelican believer. I only use their cases. But this one was a bit disappointing. My main gripe is the access to the mute switch. You have to dig it open w your finger to operate the switch. It is very stiff and hard to flip open. Obviously because it is meant to protect. But, it flips closed while fumbling with it or is in the way while trying to operate it. I know they make cases w the integrated switch. I just wish I had seen this before I bought it.
