MRCOOL DIY 24K BTU 14.5 SEER Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump

Put this unit in, it worked great for a week and a half. Have had to order a new part which has been a process to say the least. However I will say that I always get an answer when I call customer service and they have made every effort to help me resolve the problem. Hoping the new part I got this week will get it up and running again.

Purchased this unit from ingrams, and it came as scheduled and undamaged due to the nice packing. The unit itself is compariable to other more expensive units, other than that the inside unit is made of fairly cheap and thin plastic. They could have done better here. The unit is rated as working for heat down to 5 degrees F, but this is not the case. I do understand that factors such as wind, humidity etc. have an effect on the heating capability, but the unit severely struggles at around 39 degrees F, and almost does nothing at around 30 degrees F. Kind of defeats the purpose of having it for heat at all. Keep in mind that a supplemental heat element is not available for this unit, even though the condensor comes with connections and a cable for this capability. The amazon associate at Ingram heating explained that the indoor unit will melt if a heat element is added. Would have been nice to have this notice in their manual. Works for a.c, but is useless for any kind of heat, including supplemental as I was needing it for. A.C. Works well, but don't buy this for any kind of heating tasks. Spend a few more dollars and buy a better brand.

Great quality and easy install, comes with one of the best warranties 7 year compressor and 5 year parts., unit has the dc inverter which will heat at low outside temps.. very happy
