Will it crimp pex to copper?

If you are asking if it will crimp PEX to copper pipe, then no, it will not. There is an adapter that you sweat onto copper pipe that has a PEX fitting on the other end. Search for pex to copper fitting.

Will this tool crimp 4/0 wire splices?

This tool would crimp anything that would fit in the jaws. As far as the size handling of the crimp in the jaws on large copper cables I have not tried that as of yet and could not guarantee it to fit. Thank you for you question on our products.
