Eternal Magic
I've consumed this book in an hour and a half, that's how much I enjoyed it. We're really getting into the thick if the story in this book and learning lots more about what exactly Cass and her derifiur are.As I need to go read the last book to find out what happens, and also as this one does end on just a small cliffhanger, my review is going to be very short and just say this is a great series, I'm really enjoying them and once Cass's story is over I'll be looking forward to reading about Del and Nix too.

Eternal Magic
Cass knows that it is inevitable, a fight between her friends and the monster they have been running from all their lives. Which makes it a very inconvenient time for Cass' powers to be handicapped by the Nullifier.I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. This is so far, the shortest book in the Dragon's Gift series. And where the previous books have had individual story arcs, as well as following the series' storyline; this book is purely to do with the series, and getting some major answers along the way.Which is probably why it's so short, there aren't any secondary themes in here.I always like Cass, and I particularly liked that until the last book, she has snubbed her powers and done everything the mundane way, out of fear of them. With Aidan's training, she was just starting to accept her powers, when they are suddenly blocked from her.She starts to realise how much her magic is a vital part of her, and she will go to any length to get it back. You finally find out the truth of Cass' history, and the mysterious power she lost as a child resurfaces. (Which was really cool. I loved that even though it is an impressive power, it's more of a hindrance than a help for Cass, as she struggles to control it.)You also discover why Victor is hunting Cass and her sisters, Del & Nix.So yes, this book is heavy on the discovery, which is awesome after three books of increasing questions. The threat of demons attacking every time the Nullifier power interfered with her cloaking charm became a little repetitive. I mean, it made sense and it was a constant and random threat, but it almost felt placed to add a little action when the story was getting too focused on history & details, etc.Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and how the world is growing and encompassing so much more.I have to confess I wasn't keen on the ending. Talk about cliffhanger. It was in the middle of something, and was suddenly just stopped!

Immortal but powerless -what's a girl to do
Amazing! Being immortal is all well and good but unless she can find a way to fight she'll be taken captive by the One who had imprisoned them before. All her magic is gone and there are hunters stalking her and her companions. What will she do? Awesome read!

Of Linsey Halls two key book series I prefer this one the other series is good but for me these are a must read. Every book is well written and enjoyable to me.

Fast paced adventure
Well when we last left Cass she found herself in a mighty predicament and that's a fact. Her FireSoul nature had saved both her and the town but left her with a very tricky problem. Now her own innate magic has disappeared leaving her floundering and as this story starts Cass starts to realise that with her magic nulled her chances of staying off the radar are well and truly scuppered ! What Cass needs is to find the Seer who recognised her necklace as her memories of life before she turned fifteen are hazy at best . Tracking him down though sends her off yet again chasing answers to her past but all the while she knows her nemesis Victor Orriodor is hunting her but this time Cass is not alone and with those she loves beside her there's nothing that Cass won't tackle!Well if you thought the last book was a bit of a cliffhanger you won't believe what the author has done this time! Just how are we supposed to wait for the next instalment ? Still I'm getting ahead of myself and should reassure my fellow readers that a lot comes to light in this book as the FireSouls turn out to be a lot more complicated than initially hinted at. This author excells at taking Cass ( and her readers) on a treasure hunt through diverse cultures but this time my head was spinning! I adore the insights into ancient civilisations as history comes to life in vivid technicolor but I was slightly nonplussed by the characters returning to somewhere they had not long left. I just felt the characters were shuffled about too much as if I was watching a really fast game of table tennis or something.Throughout this series the big bad monster the girls have been hiding from has been shady at best. I mentioned when I read the last book that I'd expected it to be a trilogy as I couldn't quite see how this overall arc would continue. Well Victor is just the tip of the iceberg here and the author is clearly expanding the enemies that the FireSouls face. I'm very hopeful that the pace will not lessen because these books are fast paced, leaving this reader breathless . I still want to know more about the other FireSouls if honest but if it's adventure and thrills you are looking for than this series is highly recommendedI was gifted a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review
