Brown Irish Golf Hat, Made in Ireland, Brown

I've always liked the look of Irish caps, but I've had trouble finding one that was built as I'd like. Most hats of this style are too bulky around the sides of the head, and have extra room on the top so that they tend to deform. This hat solved these problems handily. It fits PERFECTLY, and did not need any bending or shaping.The hat fits well around the sides and top of the head, having just a bit of space at the seam to allow it to keep its shape. The top of the hat forms a very slight recurve between the crown and the bill, which looks very sharp. It's not so pronounced as to look like one of the trendy "athletic" versions of this cap, it's got that classic look. The hat is stitched to the bill, so it does not use a snap in the middle. This keeps the edges of the hat in place. Snap-down versions often have the problem of the left and right edges getting pulled up, which is goofy and frustrating.The hat's materials are excellent. It is 100% wool, and the pictures have done a very good job of capturing the colors accurately. The inside of mine is lined in a bright blue satin material. The color seemed odd, but it is not visible when worn at all. The wool is a good thickness: not too thick, but thick enough that it holds it's shape and doesn't feel cheap. This makes it fairly warm, so at best this is a three-season hat.I'm not a stickler for "authenticity," nor do I pay more for certain brand names. That said, I am AMAZED at the quality difference between this hat and other similar hats I have owned. This is ten times the hat that my others have been. It is 100% made in Ireland, as it says, and the label inside is printed in both English and Gaelic. Not important to me, but if authenticity is your thing, I doubt it gets much better than this.
