It has worked so well I bought two more
I was skeptical that this thing would work but when i saw it on an Amazon warehouse deal used, i thought that i would give it a try. I have seven rescued cats, the last 4 of which were strays who wandered into our yard to hunt birds, chipmunks and mice but found their way into our back deck and into our lives, so needless to say i love cats. However that being said, i don't love having every cat in the neighborhood coming up to my yardto do their business and get my resident kitties all p---ed off on my windows, my living room walls and my front door. Since i have been using the first one on the side of the house by my living room there has been a dramatic drop in inappropriate urination by my cats. I bought a second one also certified used and tried in at another out side location that corresponds to a hot P spot inside my house. Again the incidence of improper peeing has decreased. Yesterday i put another one up near my front door area and actually watched one of the interlopers run across the front yard to my next door neighbors when he triggered it.

I should have known better
This purchase was a huge mistake that I should have known better. The motion sensor detects movement everytime a blade of grass blows in the breeze, so naturally the battery died very quickly. I did not notice any reduction in cat traffic in my yard. I do know that the thing did give off some sort of noise because when I set it off inside the house, my cat came to inspect. (My cat is an indoor cat and never goes outside) When I opened it up to put in a new battery the little rubber seal came loose and it was impossible to put the little battery door back on. Wasted money; it's sitting in the junk pile. Very disappointed.

No more unwanted visitors
We bought two of these, one for the front and one for the back door of our house. Since installing these, the neighborhood cats avoid our house and we avoid the howling from our precious kitty. We did not realize how important the AC adapter is until after we installed them (installing is a no-brainer). The batteries run down quickly. Purchase an adapter for every unit. The 'sound' does not affect birds, squirrels, deer, or chipmunks and when installed properly, does not affect our indoor cat. This would be a little tricky if our cat went in and out.

Didn't work for me
Didn't work for me. I tried all the settings. The neighborhood cats pooped right in front of it several times over several nights on different settings. I give it 2 stars for good customer service. They answered my questions, and suggested I try a "test" with salt to make sure the unit was functioning properly, which it was. Sent it back.

Catstop too expensive.
Product works in theory, but I need too many of them for it to be effective. And the cost of each unit is too high including the battery replacement. I can not recommend the product unless you are willing to spend lots of money on getting rid of cats.

We LOVE this product
We LOVE this product!!! We ordered two of them to try in our garden area. Sooo many cats in the neighborhood! They worked so well and we had such great results that we ordered two more...and two more!!! No problem with cats anymore and not harmful to the kitties. A PERFECT product and PERFECT solution to a frustrating problem.

No effect on cats
The neighbor's cat is still shedding hair all over my backyard. It walks by the cat stop box like it's not even there. Total waste.

Oh no! New kitten next door.
I hope the new kitten learns to stay away from my newly lanscaped front yard. Catstop does work. You do have to choose the right spot so moving shadows from plants don't set it off. I have not found any cat feces in my mulch, ( the whole front yard), since I installed it. I had to replace the battery after 3 weeks. Think I'll order the a/c cord. We'll see if the cats get used to the sound and ignore it over time.
