Q: Is there a divider between the high and low voltage areas? The image of the 2gang shows it but not in the 3gang version.

Yes. The kit comes with one divider so that you can separate the low voltage area.

Q: The description shows this as 7x8.8x7 inches. that would be too deep for regular interior walls. can someone tell me the actual depth of the box?

This box is 3.875 inches deep. That is a standard depth for this kind of recessed box. You may not see the depth measurement listed as it is assumed that it cannot be deeper than a standard 2 x 4 stud wall with 1/2" sheet rock.

Q: can i put two high voltage outlets in this box?

Yes you can. There are dividers that separate high from low. The high side by side does not need a divider. Just the high from low that's all.

Q: In the 3-gang version, can i put two power receptacles, and use the 3rd for low voltage cable (coax, cat6, hdmi)? It's unclear from the pictures.

Yes- that's exactly what I did. There's a hard plastic divider that you can use to separate high voltage from low voltage.
