Q: Would it be a complete disaster for a Lefty to try and write using a fountain pen?

For most fountain pens yes. But not all, you would need a fountain pen that’s not really “wet” and puts down a fine line so. As well as a quick drying ink. Look up the YouTube channel Goulet Pens and Brian Goulet answers this question and has examples of pens you could buy. The pilot metropolitan fine nib paired with their cartridge ink should work for you as a lefty.

I believe I received the latest/current version - mine has "Germany 2" stamped in the underside of the clip, which is associated with the latest version. It is a great pen, no regrets buying!

I previously purchased a fine nib. The size was indicated in the item description. It is more of a medium-fine than a fine. Lamy nibs run on the larger size. Hope this helps.

Yes, retailers do not charge extra for fine, medium, or broad nibs as a rule.
