Rolson20929 Four Head Circlip Pliers Set
B**B
Better to buy individual pliers.
I have been happy with Rolson tools in the past, perhaps not the highest quality but good value and did the job. These are not so good although very cheap for what they are.I only got them to remove a circlip and replace it to see if I could change a broken spring in a door handle. It did work but it did not give me much confidence as the replaceable heads were wobbly to say the least and I was not very impressed with the way they were held in place with a push to insert and a fold over toggle to hold it in place.Although I only needed the straight head inserted so it could be used on external circlips I had a good look at the others, the 45 degree one was particularly badly made with the prongs being of unequal length. After all that they did work and much easier than using anything than a specialist tool.I expect to have to change more door springs but before I do I will buy a single circlip plier that just does external circlips and buy other pliers if and when I need them.

You get what you pay for
I needed some circlip pliers for just one small but tricky job, to remove and replace 4 small wheels on a rowing machine dolly seat. I bought the cheapest set I could find, not expecting them to last a lifetime. But even so they were not really up to this job.I have never needed or used circlip pliers before and perhaps this is normal, but the two "teeth" used to grip the circlip were uneven lengths. One would make contact but the other didn't, making it impossible to use. The tool has four interchangeable heads but none worked for me, either the "teeth" were too fat or uneven. The heads flexed under pressure which didn't help.I would expect them to work OK with some types of circlips where there was more available space and depth to get both "teeth" into the clip. There were no instructions supplied but after a few minutes examining how they should work I figured it out.You get what you pay for. They are cheap enough to keep in the toolbox just in case I ever need to try and use them again, but at this price don't expect too much.Delivery was prompt.

Amazon review
Amazon are naughty bundling this item with an item that is next day delivery. It wasn't till after I bought the item that it was brought to my attention that delivery was well after the item it was bundled with. This means a trip to Screwfix to buy a set. Also there is a charge to return them, makes me wonder why I am a Prime member. Interestingly enough very similar item is a 1/3 cheaper in Screwfix which is about the same as the postage.None of this is a reflection on the seller but Amazon.

Avoids injured fingers!
This is the sort of tool most people won't need very often, but when you do have a circlip to remove, fiddling around with screwdriver blades is usually pretty ineffective and liable to result in bleeding fingers!I finally got one when I needed to remove the handles off the spindles of my bathroom door handles, in order to fix the mechanism. This got the external clips off perfectly. I'm very impressed, especially for such a good value tool.

The non mentioned spring sprang
This set of circlip pliers is really good, great value for money and a handy tool to have around mancave enterprises. My only quipple is that in the limited back of packing instructions, it does not mention a spring that is (or was now) located on the pin that holds it all together.Other than the loss of a near invisible spring they are well engineered
