I love the fact that it waters itself and you can see when more water is necessary…assembly was easy, love the appearance and great value for the money…I will definitely purchase more when needed.

These have a great, modern feel to them, clean and smooth. As suggested by another reviewer after placing the strings in the pot, I put a piece of plant mesh over them and carefully covered it with the dirt then watered from underneath only, that way you won't have a mess in the clear bottom piece.Some reviews stated that these had really weak magnets that rip out and make it useless but I don't see how that's possible based on how mine are constructed (I guess some may be faulty) My magnets are secured by a very tight rubbery plug and there is ZERO chance they're going to just fall out. The magnets are also really strong, I don't worry about the bottom falling off at all.Pic included shows Sweetgrass for cats (Catnip will be planted in the center when it's done sprouting in it's nursery planter)

The planters are a good self watering solution for houseplants you might struggle to keep moist. The cotton wick draws water up from below as the soil dries. You just need to refill the reservoir. I do wish the upper part came in black, or other colors.Put a big knot in one end of the wick so it doesn't fall out, and feed it through one hole of the upper pot. I used two wicks for the longest pot. The instructions are a little crazy, but they do hint that you can also toss the wick, and just use the bottom reservoir to catch water like a drain saucer.There is generous drainage in the planting part, and using a potting mesh will prevent dirt falling down into the crystal clear bottom.  This bonsai mesh  is an example of a rectangular mesh for the bottom of the pots. On the cheap, paper coffee filters will also keep dirt out of the bottom, but eventually they do break down.Finally, don't over pot your plants. If the plants are too small, they won't be able to use all the water being wicked up, the soil stays too wet, and root rot damage is possible.

Very nice. I like the square shape rather than normal round. Love the clear bottom so you can see if the plant needs watering.

These are nice planters, BUT! I wanted different shapes and sizes and was sent 4 of the same size and style. I kept them because they're sturdy and nice looking but would have preferred to get what I ordered as per the picture.

Bought to help make growing herbs easier.The system is great in concept, but lacking in execution.Uses strings to keep soil moist-which is fine except the string just lightly rest on a plastic peg-not secured in any way so when you add soil and such-esp if repotting, be extremely careful not to accidentally pull or move string, it is a pain to try to fix! They need to add a little loop across the top of peg so you thread string thru or other way to secure - weight of string when wet is not enough.Also within a week the water was green and growing algae-I used drinking grade water -not tap - and not drinking water that was altered with any extra minerals etc.plants died-but they were suffering before planted - a few started to come back at first - plants were not sick just forgot to water-hence trying system to help.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!! Perfect for my African violet flowers with the watering system. They even come with the watering ropes that I usually use nylon stockings for!!
