My family love movie theater popcorn and for the last 5 years ...
My family love movie theater popcorn and for the last 5 years I've worked to learn about the best equipment, brand of popcorn, oil, seasoning and popping method to make the best popcorn at home. Years ago I had determined that Orville Redenbacher was the best brand. After coming across the best kernels I had ever tasted at a Cavs game, I decided to research other brands and find that great popping corn that we had at the game that they sale as "Premium Kernel."This brand is not it, but I would rate it equal Orville Redenbacher in taste and texture, but it doesn't pop as many kernels.

A Fine Popcorn - perfectly suited to the Presto Hot Air Popper --- yet very Expensive
I like this popcorn yet I can't cite any culinary delights beyond the fact that it produces BIG, light, fluffy, and airy popcorn as it comes out of my Presto Hot Air Popper. The popcorn is close to tasteless. The hulls seem to have disappeared as the popcorn popped! And just about every kernel pops! While one reviewer found hidden flavors in this popcorn ("golden buttery taste with a rustic hint") - I can't detect any of that. But that reviewer used coconut oil and I used just the hot air of my Presto popper. I rely on toppings to flavor my popcorn. This is a fine product - it produces BIG, light, airy popcorn which are almost absent of any detectable hulls. This popcorn works perfectly in my Presto Hot Air Popper.Taste - as I said - I can't detect much of anything. That is not a criticism. I believe popcorn is largely tasteless absent any cooking oils or other flavorings.Recommended but it is NOT cheap. My Presto hot air popper uses a 1/2 cup per fill (4 oz). At that rate this popcorn provides about four fills per bottle times 6 bottles. That comes to $.68 per use (assuming you are paying about $16.00 for 6 bottles). That makes this popcorn considerably more expensive than microwave popcorn purchased from a local warehouse club (about 20 cents per bag). This is a fine popcorn but I'll be looking for a much more economical alternative in the future."Paragon Bulk Bag Yellow Corn" (12.5-Pounds) is currently the best buy at Amazon (which also includes free shipping) selling for $16.00, too. That is HALF the cost of this popcorn since you are getting TWICE the amount of popcorn at the same price. I think I'll look locally too because even if I buy the Paragon popcorn I'm still paying more than what I paid for a microwave bag of popcorn from a discount club. But there is no doubt you get twice as much popcorn at the same price if you buy the Paragon brand. Certainly worth a try.

One of the best popcorn varieties!
I found myself no longer enjoying popcorn because the movie theater served nasty, flavorless stuff with horribly irritating hulls and plastic oil instead of butter. I was inspired by Alton Brown's show Good Eats to try the "gourmet" popcorn, and tried Fireworks because they had a good reputation. Alton even co-starred on Mythbusters to find the best way to pop corn, and Fireworks posted a link to it on their Facebook page.I got a variety pack of the Fireworks corn, with a number of different varieties. The Savanna Gold was our favorite, for size of popped kernel, fewest annoying hulls, best flavor, and fewest unpopped kernels. Some of the smaller-popping varieties were tasty, but I like the bigger, fluffy kernels, and this variety served us the best.I got a LARGE bottle of the Savanna Gold, and it was tasty and wonderful...to a point. We simply didn't eat the stuff often enough or fast enough, and the longer it took, the more stale it got in the container, until near the bottom quarter it was nearly flavorless and didn't completely pop. Since we didn't have the problem with the corn going stale in the smaller-bottle variety pack, I ordered THIS pack, with 6 smaller bottles. This suits the speed at which we eat it wonderfully, the last bottle staying sealed - and fresh! - until we were ready to use it. When we hit the last bottle, I order a new case. Simple, convenient, and delicious. I highly recommend purchasing your popcorn in smaller containers, even though it costs a little more, if you don't eat it often or quickly. If it's a staple for you, and you eat it regularly, you may find the larger containers more economical for you.I like my popcorn with a mixture of 2/3 butter, 1/3 coconut oil, and fine sea salt. I put the salt in the butter when I melt it, so it gets distributed more evenly, rather than shaking it into the bowl. My partner prefers it without the coconut oil, but I think it reminds me more of the old movie theater experience, the scent alone taking me back to my childhood.

Big Let Down
After receiving my popcorn I was so excited because of the positive reviews from others. After popping the first bowl I wondered if maybe they sent me the wrong popcorn. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the worst popcorn in the world. Maybe my expectations were too high. The kernels were too small and the taste wasn't the best in my opinion. I have been eating Orville Redenbachers for quite some time and I'm definitely going back.

AMAZING!!
I am so obsessed with popcorn. I think it is because my mom said she ate a lot of it while she was pregnant with me (that and peanut M&M's). I love popcorn, and I love Fireworks popcorn. People who complain about the size of the popped kernel are being kinda picky. Who cares how big the kernels are when it tastes this wonderful? A lot reviews say that they prefer Orville Redenbacher's much more. That popcorn is cheap and does pop much larger, but Fireworks has so much more flavor and WAY LESS hulls than Orville's. I also like, that for me anyway, it is grown relatively close to where I live. The people who complain about the price should maybe stay with Orville, but I think the texture and flavor is way worth the price. I will buy this over and over and over again, and probably throw out or give away the Orville's that is currently sitting in my pantry.

Just your average PoP
I bought this popcorn to use in a Presto PopLite. I was thinking it would be more special than getting an Orville R. product. It isn't. There are a lot of unpopped seeds when all is said and done. It's still an okay snack, but nothing to rave about.

Popcorn
Good tasting. All the kernels popped in the air popcorn maker and also on the stovetop using coconut oil for the frying of the kernels.I like this Savanna Gold better than the High Mountain Midnight popcorn
