Worked great for calls and text messages
Unlock Process:1) I went online and requested that AT&T unlock my android phone.2) In two business days, they gave me an unlock code.3) Once,I was outside of my home country, I removed my original SIM and poppsed in the Speek SIM.4) My phone prompted me for the unlock code and voila!Calls Text Messages:Both worked great for me in Italy and Germany. After a week, I barely used $2.Data:I'm not sure about data because I mostly used wifi at my hotel and in the airport.I will try to use data in Israel in a few weeks and then update my review then. The only catch is that the system to make call is a multi-step process:1) You dial the number.2) The call ends with a message saying it's going to connect you (I don't remember the wording)3) Your phone rings and the caller ID shows your own number calling you4) When you answer, you are connected to the party you were dialing in step 1

Worked Really Well - in Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Strasbourg, Munich
Followed directions, and all worked well. I was very pleased with the ease of setup, and the actual utilization. On only one occasion during the travel did a call not go through - I got a 'network busy' signal when I tried to answer an inbound call.To activate the SIM card, you do have to make a call using airtime. I did this before leaving the U.S. The assigned U.S. cell phone number was immediately texted back to the phone, so I was able to give the number to family members prior to departing for Europe.I logged onto a wifi connection and updated all apps on my phone prior to travel to Europe, and then I disabled the updates to apps for the duration of the trip. I disabled the data capabilities as well unless I absolutely needed to use data (which I did use for accessing Google Maps, plugged in my address, the instructions came up, then I disabled the data again - Maps keeps the instructions even without the data being on at that point).I was easily able to initiate calls once landed in Frankfurt. It took one or two misses in dialing before i got the hang of having to put a +1 in front of the U.S. number, sending, then waiting for a call-back in order for the call to go through.I could not figure out how to use the data at first. Ultimately I realized I had to enact data roaming in order to access data on the phone. Data is expensive on roaming, so you should deactivate roaming unless absolutely needed. We were traveling in Europe for 8 days - rented a Wi-Fi router from the car rental company for $50 for the week - used it to connect to GPS, internet, Facebook, etc., avoiding data usage charges. The Wi-Fi router, however, did not work in France, so then I did use the data roaming in order to get the Google Maps download for directions.I would definitely recommend this international travel SIM Card.

Phone calling great! Texting, not so much.
I was excited to receive this SIM card and after a fairly simple install and set up, I was able to make phone calls without any problems, at excellent rates. However, texting was a big problem. I texted from the Speeek U.S. phone number to another U.S. phone number. That text was receive. When that person replied to me I received the reply but the reply phone number showed up as an Italian phone number (country code 39), not a U.S. phone number (country code 1). Also, attempts to send addional texts to the same U.S. phone number, failed. I was never able to send a text to a U.S. number again. When I sent an email to Speeek explaining the problem, I received a reply from Speeek assuring me that "yes, I should be able to text to an Italian phone number". Obviously they didn't understand what my issue was. After several more emails I realized that the Speeek rep. was never going to understand what my problem was. Unfortunately, there is no phone number to call to Speeek to customer service so I could try to clarify my issue. All if their customer service is done via email.Bottom line is, texting doesn't work properly for me and customer service is completely inefficient.

Research Before Buying
I wish I could say I was happier with this product. I think this SIM card would be great if you only wanted to make calls, however, I mainly want SIM cards for data. I arrived in Italy to discover data services were not offered, and this was not clear on the rates website when I checked prior to my trip. I think this has since been fixed, but very frustrating for travelling. I also traveled to Egypt where data worked for a short amount of time, then stopped working. Because of the service issues, I often decided to just put my phone in airplane mode to save money on any data the phone could consume. My suggestion if you are purchasing this SIM card is to do your research and know what services you want (voice, text, data) in the countries you are visiting. I found the prices to be competitive, but that will do you no good if you cannot use the services you want.

Speeek Card Costs me Money and Frustration
This phone card costs me so much Money and Frustration. I first landed in Paris. It didn't work - contacted the Speeek, they responded with a set of instruction the next day. It still didn't work..they sent out a different set of instruction. It finally worked, but that was my last day in France. I had to get a GPS while I was there since the phone card didn't work. So I wasted the phone card and $$ on the GPS. (I don't get why they don't just give out those sets of instruction - so I don't have to run around like a Chicken and get wifi to hunt them down)My second stop - Italy. This phone card Doesn't work in Italy. Period. I ended up buying a local phone card that also works in Spain. $$
