In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Comfortable Shoes
My husband's feet are really wide (3-4E) and he has trouble finding tennis shoes and a brand that fit that aren't really ugly! He ordered these online hoping they would fit and they did! He can wear them all day with no discomfort and loves the style. Asics is such a quality brand and he is so happy they make a stylish wide shoe. These are great shoes for regular width and wide feet. Great buy!

Happy:-)
I have worn a lot of different Asics. This one has much better cushioning than Asics Gel-Excite or other lower-priced Asics. Also, the toe box is high and roomy, and the heel is not hard like many higher-priced Asics (like the Nimbus). For the money, this is a very good, basic running shoe with good cushioning and stability.

Asics shoes are the best
I bought these shoes because I always buy Asics and am yet to be dissapointed. After using this pair for 9 months, they started to get a little worn out. I decided to buy a new pair of shoes to prepare for a half marathon. I saw a pair of Rebok shoes 1/2 off and decided to break the trend and buy them. I ran around 30 miles per week in them for two months and the Reboks had already gotten a hole in the bottom of the shoe that gave me blisters! With less than a week to go to the 1/2 marathon, I decided to run in my old asics because that's not adequate time to break in new shoes. I ran my half marathon and the shoes were great!!! Even after a year and well over 1,000 miles, they worked great and didn't give me any blisters. I will always stick to asics.

Asics Men's Gel- Equation 7 Running Shoe
I have worn Asics shoes for years. This is the second pair of Asics Mens's Gel-Equation 7 running shoe I have purchased from Amazon. The first pair I have worn for six months. I have just turned them into an every day, all day wear shoe. I purchased the second pair to replace the first pair when they wear out. Both pair fit well. The length is perfect in both pair. The second pair is a little more narrow, but not enough to cause a problem. The support is great in both pair. I am happy with both pairs of shoes and I am definitely happy with the price that Amazon has on this shoe. Amazon ,keep selling this kind quality shoe for this price and I will continue purchasing them.

Great shoes, great fit, really comfortable.
I wasn't sure what to expect as I have always had a hard time finding shoes that fit well. 11.5 extra wide is a pain to find. Friend recommended these so I gave them a shot. Know how when you get new shoes and they are uncomfortable for sometimes up to a week as you break them in? Not these. I put them on and wore them all day. Didn't want to take them off. They were more comfortable than walking barefoot.

Feel different from the previous model
I'm a regular runner. I usually run 4-5 times per week, 3-5 miles each time. When I started running, an associate at a local shoe store turned me onto the Asics GT-2150 because of my WIDE feet and neutral pronation. I have pretty serious heel spurs and a history of plantar fasciitis, so I need a fair amount of cushion in my running shoes. The 2150s were great. When they were discontinued, I found a good deal on the Equation 6 and tried them out. Loved them, they were a very suitable replacement. So, now the Equation 6 is discontinued and I was ready to try the 7. I read a pretty bad review about them changing dramatically, no longer as cushioned, different fit, etc. I decided to go with the Nike Air Pegasus 30 instead, which is also available for my Buick sized feet. It's a great shoe, but it's too cushioned. My feet felt tired from trying to keep stable. Back to the Equation 7. Amazon spied on me enough to know that I had looked at them, and sent me an email one morning with a great price on the 7s. I bought them, and as I had read they really felt different from the 6s. They are definitely not as cushioned, but provided the stability that the Nikes did not. The fit was pretty comparable to the 6s. My first time on the road with them I ran 15k, my longest run ever. I thought if there was going to be a problem with them, I might as well force it out on day one. My feet felt great throughout the run, my old knees and hips were the limiting factor. In the end, it's true. They are not as cushioned as previous models, but I'm a fan. Asics always comes through for me and my wide feet.

Very comfy, great for anyone who likes to run long distances!
I run a lot, sometimes long distances over asphalt, and other times at the track. Either time require a lot of cushioning, and these pair of shoes deliver very well. They're very well-cushioned, and the insoles have not too much arch support. They look good, too! These were the replacement for my Puma Mobium, which were awesome while they lasted. I'm getting the feeling that these Asics are going to be with me for a very long time. Very happy with this purchase!

POOR QUALITY/INCONSISTANT SIZING
I have been wearing ASICS athletic shoes for at least the last 20 years and there use to be a time I thought they made a quality product.Unfortunately for me the quality and consistency of these shoes have diminished to the point that I can no longer wear them.I have wide feet and and normally need 4E width shoes. Where in the past I did OK fitting into 2E shoes, I now need 4E.These last 2 pairs (different styles/extra wide 4E) that I'm returning are because it physically hurt my feet just trying to get them on.Use to be when they were a little tight I could count on the shoes loosening up over time, but not anymore.I've discussed this with my foot Dr. and he told me it's not all due to my feet getting wider it's most likely the shoes getting narrower. This does make sense because my orthotics are becoming tighter fitting as well and require more trimming to fit the shoes narrower width.Oh well I'm sure this isn't the only brand that's been skimping on materials and labor over the years to keep profits up.I now go off in search of a new brand that actually sells 4E width shoes- without breaking the bank!

Shoes arrived promptly, so no issues there. The shoes themselves have a wide toe box, slightly narrower than the GEL Foundation 12 2E but meaningfully wider than the GT-2000 2E. So I think I have found a shoe which fits my foot, though there seem to be no more on sale. It is disgraceful that ASICS won't say what width their shoes are.

Comfortable shoe if you need support for foot/ankle
Bit tight to put on the first time - but loosening the laces helped. Comfortable shoe if you need support for foot/ankle issues
