According to the Coleman website, as of 2017, this cooler is made in USA and has a 6 year limited warranty.

Q: What are the exterior dimensions of the bottom of the cooler?

The bottom is 13 1/2 X 21 inches - however if you look at the cooler about three inches above the bottom it swells a half inch in either direction making it about 14 1/2 X 22 at this point. This would change weather it would fit into a tight space. Hope this helps.

Q: Are the rear lid hinges made of steel/metal or plastic?

They are steel but somewhat flimsy. This is the weakest part of the cooler. As long as you dont put any backward pressure on the lid when open you will be ok.
