I bought this to capture the red squirrel that was terrorizing my hunting cabin up north. Toilet paper shredded, insulation shredded, large excrement (1/4 to 1/2 inch size), sleeping bag shredded. Turns out there were 2 that thought my cabin was their home. Caught both within 24 hours. As in other reviews, may not work with mice, I would recommend the bucket trap for that. It takes a bit of weight to trip the mechanism on this trap. I had made my own bucket trap for the mice. A five gallon bucket with a loose fitting dowel across the top, three or four inches of water in the bottom, peanut butter on the dowel. I bought this trap because all the peanut butter was cleaned off the dowel and nothing in the bucket.

I like the tunnel part. Its easy to add bait. I use can dog food for the bait they like it better than peanut butter! I think I have cyborg Rats, they eat anything, things that people suggest to use to repell them like cayenne pepper! They ate a big pound jar of it. Drank Lysol whole bottle, Drank dish detergent, ate a box of plaster of paris (that's supposed to solidify in their stomach, it doesn't) Drank a whole bottle of peppermint oil which is supposed to be a deterrent. Screwed off metal Mason jar lids! chewed thru CANS of soda! now u know why i call them cyborgs.

This trap has a nice design but does not work.Granted I did not have a large Rodent problem, I expected more. It sat without catching anything and when it was tripped by accident, it broke into pieces.

I bought two of these.On the plus side, I caught three mice and one rat within a week.On the downside, the rat ate through the plastic when it was caught, so that side was only usable for one trapping. The other side was fine. On the other unit, I caught two mice, one somewhat large. Apparently the trapping of that one caused some damage to the latching mechanism, because it could not be rearmed for more trapping.So in summary, one side of each was unusable after one trapping. So the longevity of these units doesn’t really seem to be there. The cover seems to trap odor too, so after releasing the deceased rodents, the unit smells pretty bad.Wouldn’t buy again, even though it did catch rodents. It needs to last longer than one use.

Just on my way out to barn to place it. Set up was easy. Trap(s) seem very sturdy compared to some of the others I have bought. Putting this in the pen with my chickens - and loved how this product can be in there and safe to use around my birds. Beware of getting anything delivered on a Sunday. For me,, the last 5 or 6 months - product says delivery made and not anywhere on my property and found one product no where even near the house. I am disabled - this was barely at the top of the drive. Looks like he opened a door and threw it out. Excited to get trap out there and save on chicken feed. BTW - this rant was for Amazon Sunday driver - the product looks above and beyond what I expected.

Great traps. Enclosed to protect other animals. Used with peanut butter to great effect. The two nits I have are that its hard to clean the peanut butter out of the little "well" within the trap. To open and close the top requires sliding left of right and its hard to line up. Those are minor annoyances and these are excellent traps.

Easy to use. Like that it has a trap at both ends. Humanely kills the rodent instantly.

Easy to set, easy to dump the carcasses from. Caught several rats with it, got them all with no instances of the bait disappearing and the trap not triggering or such. Traps set by a professional exterminator did not do so well, and this thing was a lot cheaper than Orkin.
