I have never tried a product like this before
I have never tried a product like this before. I smoked for years (quit 3 years ago!!) and I drink a cup of coffee everyday...no sodas and no wine. I've tried the white strips before, but after collecting a mouthful of spit in 5 minutes, I just gave up. I use whitening toothpaste..but it's just not keeping them white. So, when I heard about this stuff on Facebook or Twitter, I went on the search for one in a sea of many. After the first use, I noticed quite a difference!. I took a commenters advise and used a separate toothbrush...one that you're willing to have charcoal stuck in it. I have one "disappointment"... after I brushed with the charcoal, rinced with lots of water and brushed again with my toothpaste, there were tiny bits of "black sand" stuck right under my gumline. I didn't inspect my gums until later, but I could feel the grit in my teeth all day. I flossed and then I used one of those little green single flossers with the pick on the end ...and I found more than I expected. The next time I did it, I just brushed in downward strokes. Works perfectly! I will admit I'm a vigorous brusher...so it just takes a little patience. Also, nothing against the company, since it came from one of Amazon's facilities... BUT, the jar of powder wasn't packaged properly and made quite the mess in the box. The lid wasn't even on all the way. I had a few other things in the box, also just thrown in, and black powder coated everything. With all that said, it really is a cool product. I've never tried another brand, so I don't have anything to compare it to...but I will reorder!!

I LOVE THIS my teeth never felt so clean because the charcoal is slightly gritty it polishes my teeth very well and gets the gunk I cannot get well enough by just brushing alone. I have used it 6 times so far and am noticing my teeth getting brighter, am a coffee drinker and have VERY poor enamel due to 40 years of addiction to Coka Cola and this is the only product I am happy with because other products cause really unbearable sensitivity to my teeth which I already have due to thin enamel. I only have a few problems with the product, 1). It's MESSY! After each brushing you have to clean your sink out well, the sides of your face, your tooth brush etc it wants to stay everywhere. 2). The instructions simply say to dip your toothbrush into the product then brush your teeth, I did not try this because I have common sense, bacteria can built up in the protect and pass a infection into your mouth, I use a new Dixie cup PER brushing placing just enough charcoal into the cup and using that to dip and discarded into the recycling when done. And 3). I am noticing my teeth ARE starting to get MORE sensitive with each use, the first time no pain, second time more pain .. and third and so forth so my teeth are starting to hurt some but, I am going to keep using it because I want these coffee teeth gone and if it hurts too much I will stop. But, I do love the product. BTW must brush for 3 MIN straight to get the product to be effective.

Temporarily Whitens/Brightens My Teeth
Let's start with the packaging. The packaging is fine, in my opinion. The container isn't sealed, so it's possible you'll get some charcoal in your shipping box/envelope so keep that in mind if you're placing this order at the same time you're ordering white pants! The container itself is small, but that's written in the dimensions on the order page so it didn't come as a surprise. The labels on my container looked a little rough around the edges - a little faded, a little soft - but the product inside seemed okay. Now as for the teeth whitening itself - this is fine if you want your teeth to look a little whiter after you use the product. But, in my opinion, I have seen no lasting improvement in teeth whiteness. I've used this quite often since I ordered it and I noticed a pattern... my teeth appear whiter for a few hours/up to one day after using and then they go back to their original tone.My theory is this: the charcoal is black, so after you use the powder little bits of it stay in the cracks between your teeth and in your gumline. Of course your teeth appear whiter when put next to black - even when it's a subtle, hairline-thin strip of black. It's the same reason teeth look whiter if you wear a dark lipstick.I also noticed that if I'm in a hurry after using it and don't mouthwash or Waterpik afterwards, my teeth appear more dramatically white. If I take a really long time being careful to remove all the residual black bits from between my teeth (flossing and mouthwashing/Waterpiking multiple times) my teeth don't look that much whiter, if even at all. It's fine for what it is - and for the cost. I think it helps my boyfriend's teeth more than mine (he's an avid coffee drinker and I don't drink coffee or wine or soda) and maybe his results will last, unlike mine. I would encourage people to buy it to try it out, at least - it's $10 and you'll get a lot of uses out of it.Here are some tips for using: I bought a new, really cheap toothbrush (I think there were 6 for $1). Do not use your nice fancy expensive electric toothbrush with this... the brushes will become black and it's really hard to clean. Get your brush damp, then carefully dip it into the container to get some charcoal on the brush. After that - get into the shower! Seriously, brush your teeth while you're showering. Any accidental spray from the brush or liquid that comes out of your mouth is a dark, inky black and it's way too easy to accidentally get flecks of it everywhere. BRUSH GENTLY. This is an abrasive product (that's how it supposedly scrubs stains, even though it didn't scrub mine too well) and it can hurt your gums, especially if you use a stiff cheap brush like I did or if you brush aggressively. After you brush - it's up to you how much you want to rinse your mouth out. If you're like me and don't like having the black streaks between your teeth and you rinse your mouth a lot, your effects will probably be diminished.

Not bad for the price.
So honest review here!Pros: it’s relatively cheap and seems to work well, but I’ve only brushed once, so far I only see a small change. Had no weird taste which was a plus.Cons: it came smaller than I expected but for only $9 I’m okay with it. But the packaging was messy like it had been opened during shipping, had a little of the charcoal in the package, it is pretty messy but nothing that a little water can’t fix. I would suggest brushing you teeth after with some toothpaste because it did not completely come off my teeth after just rinsing my mouth out, but again not a biggie to me. I would recommend this item but I may try buying a little better quality next time!If this is your first time trying charcoal brushing, I’d probably suggest this one.
