This combines the best of a hard side case to protect your contents but give the option to use the least amount of space to open. I had a samsonite like this for over 10 years and loved it. But it wore out and was too large for most carry on limits.A traditional clamshell takes twice the floor space and can’t be opens on a stand in a hotel room.The flexible pockets in front are great for quick grab items you might need in the airport or at the hotel during checkin.The measurements are 21” x 14” x 9”. So 1 inch shorter than currently allowed by most carriers but I was willing to sacrifice the inch for this hybrid situation.
