good but small

I purchased this for my son’s room as he suffers from allergies and asthma. I was highly impressed with the accuracy of the temperature and the humidity readings. It’s VERY important tokeep the humidity at 25 to 30 percent for us. Knowing when to turn on the machines that generate a lot of energy to keep the levels safe was key. This meter was tested against a meter by a professional Industrial Hygieniest and I was told the readings are within the standard deviation and accurate for home use and my needs. I felt relieved that our meters were at times the same and only off by ONE DEGREE TEMPERATURE wise in ONE ROOM. I would highly recommend this if you suffer from allergies or asthma or you want to control the humidity in your home. Some may not know but ... increased humidity and warm temperatures and the moisture produced may lead to excelletated mold and fungi growth. I use this with a dehumidifier and an air purifier with a HEPA filiter and I feel the air is cleaner and less PPM’s that my son is breathing in. I noticed also that the memory function is very functional for storing the data as it changes. This helps us with symptom control as the environment changes. I can’t say enough how this little device has helped my son and myself in accurately knowing the readings and keeping on top of his allergies and asthma. I feel this is a tool to gage the use of the dehumidifier vs constantly running it. The humidity reading on the dehumidifier is EXACTLY the same as the reading on this AcuRite -which makes me believe this device has a relatable and accurate measurement. It is small enough to blend into his bedside table and I’ve placed it OPPOSITE corner of the dehumidifier for more valid and reliable results / readings. The BONUS my son said is gives him the time as well. I can’t thank AcuRite enough for making a product that is accurate and affordable. My personal feeling is some companies over charge for devices that are not as accurate and affordable as this one. If you are skeptical about this device and the accuracy .... PLEASE I hope my honest review will squash your doubts. I have NO CONNECTION NOR WAS I GIVEN THIS DEVICE FOR FREE OR A DISCOUNT ..... I’m just a Mom with a son that has multiple health issues and when you find a product that works ..... well I want to let others know MY RESULTS .... in the hopes that I can help someone else who is in a similar situation. I will end with this ..... as the warmer weather approaches .... I will be buying additional AcuRite Meters for EVERY ROOM. I purchased the black color and I am VERY HAPPY with the design the accuracy and also that this can be used as a display standing up with the attached “leg stand” or even put against a wall leaning straight up.My question to AcuRite is .... will using a Velcro to fasten to a wall in the basement skew the meter readings in any way? What is the preferred method for hanging on a wall from AcuRite - the manufacture of this meter?Thank you - for designing a device that is so accurate and compact and the price point is affordable. My son had slept better and we are able to control the environment more accurately and effectively with the help and use of this meter.Respectfully Submitted ..... A very happy Mom.

Supplied battery was dead on arrival.Instructions stated to remove protective film from screen which had clearly already been removed, indicating it was NOT new in the box.Otherwise works fine. These are handy.

It took me a while to see that it has a little stand that pulls out of the back so it can stand up. It has a magnet on the back if you want to attach it to something magnetic.

Great little product - easy to read, nice size numbers, reads temp in F or C, humidity readings, appears accurate. Reordered - bought many for placement throughout the house. Will recommend.

I bought this as a third hygrometer because it is such a struggle to keep two bedrooms and the living room properly humidified now that temps have dropped. Prior to purchasing this slim Acu-rite, I have a slightly larger Acu-rite and a Therm Pro, which I also purchased through Amazon. However, the new "slim" Acu-rite is currently reading humidity of 53% while both the older Acu-rite and Therm Pro read 46%. Although the Therm Pro and older Acu-rite are off a bit with respect to temperature, they are close to one another. Thus, I think this new Acu-Rite needs to be recalibrated. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to trade it in for another or just keep it and constantly bear in mind that it tends to "run high". Overall, I really like the display and it fits easily on shelves because of its slim design.

Muito preciso o aparelho, tenho outro termômetro digital aqui e os dois estão marcando as temperaturas🌡 igualzinho.Pensei que o aparelho era maior pelas imagens no anuncio mais e ótimo o mostrador ,o ímã que vem atraz do aparelho e muito potente fixa muito bem , Recomendo . Obs: a pilha que veio junto veio descarregada tive que substituir.

This is the newer slimer model from the older thicker model that I used to buy and place in each cigar humidor to monitor humidity and temperature. Stuck both in my electric Liebherr Cigar Humidor and the old model was precise and accurate while this newer model was off by 6% in terms of humidity and 1-2 Degrees Celsius in terms of temperature.It is off the previous model by 3-8% humidity as compared to the previous older model which is more precise and correctly calibrated.

I'm not sure that it gives 100% correct reads, but an approximate is ok with me.Firstly, it is very small. Tested this in close proximity to the thermostat, and the read was almost bang on. Almost.The humidity gauge also seems reasonably accurate as the room feels dry and comfortable per the readout, or humid on warmer days.Only had this for about a week and a half, and so far it seems decent.

I bought this last July 2018 and still is working great up to date. It’s nearly 2 years already and I haven’t even changed the battery yet. As for the accuracy, it doesn’t sync with my thermostat so I am not so sure which is more accurate. Readings are updated every 5 seconds which is great when you try to move the device in one room to another. As for the size, it is a bit small than what I expected though you can easily read it even when you are 5 meters away.

The meter is okay but the humidity sometimes reads 1%. I am not sure if I got a lemon but it also reads the humidity at least 10% lower when the humidity reading is working.
