Salomon Women's Ellipse Winter GTX

Perfect boot for ski shoeing and snow shoeing. It is flexible, warm, and comfortable. I only needed to wear liner socks and a moderately thick pair of wool socks for my feet to be warm down to -20F. I find these boots too warm to keep on indoors, which is amazing since many winter hiking boots I've owned have required foot heaters for my feet to stay warm. These boots have just the right amount of room in the toes and fit snugly in the heel and mid-foot. (I like plenty of room for my toes to spread out, while my heel and mid foot are narrow.) My Kenetrex gators fit well over these boots and stay put. This Salomon boot is well-made with excellent traction on ice. Best winter hiking boot I've ever owned.

These boots are amazing!They have excellent grip on mountain trails, and keep my feet toasty warm. In fact, if it’s not actually below freezing, they’re almost a little too warm.I wore them on a 3 mile walk to break them in first, but realized I didn’t really need to. They are sturdy but not stiff, and were immediately comfortable.They also comfortably fit my microspikes, very important for winter hikes right now.

I needed a boot that was warm, waterproof, offered good foot support, and traction for slippery conditions. I got them all, plus a sharp looking boot that I’ve gotten MANY compliments on.I read where Solomon had recently been sold within the last three years and hoping that the new owners continue to provide a quality product to their customers.

My feet get cold easily and stay cold. I have purchased countless boots claiming they will keep my feet warm only to find out that spending hundreds on dollars on boots doesn't guarantee warmth. Years ago I found a pair of Solomon boots at a garage sale and bought them. Couldn't believe how warm and comfortable they were. I called the company to find a current style that was comparable to the ones I had. These boots are great. They are light and comfortable and warm. Excited to finally have a pair that fits my needs. These boots provide great support for winter walking. Better support than Sorel and Columbia. Highly recommend if you are looking for sturdy boots with good support. Order half size up if you anticipate putting arch supports in and wear thick socks because it is true to size.

But! Very stiff above the ankle, just below the calf. Had to find a way to cushion this stiff colar on the boot.

Bin rundherum zufrieden mit dem Schuh. Er hält toll warm.Einen Stern Abzug gibt es, weil schon bald die erste Schlaufe der Senkel ausgerissen war, aber insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Schuh.
