Gorgeous book; Prima Guides at their best
I actually managed to grab a New sealed one that wasn't crazy expensive, shoutout to the seller for still having one, and used it for my playthrough of the game. The outside of the book is simply gorgeous, and the inside is packed full of colorful pages with screenshots and maps and such that you'd expect. It's a very well made book and guide. The guide isn't 100% perfect, some of the moon descriptions were a bit too ambiguous for example, but otherwise this is pretty much as good as it gets for professionally made guide books.i would say that it comes with a code for the e-guide version that you can redeem and access on prima's website, though for most people buying this now i assume would be getting a used copy and that code would have already been redeemed.

Cool book, but I won't lie you don't really need it.
Cool book but yea, you won't REALLY need it. I bought it mostly out of my childhood obsession I had with these player guides. My parents were always big on "I'm not going to pay 60 dollars for a game and then 20 dollars on a book on how to beat the game." The only time I would ever luck out would when Prima came out with a guide and it went on sale. I never owned any official player guides growing up, I always got the unofficial Prima ones. So it's awesome to have this.As far as the content of the book goes, yea you don't NEED it to beat the game itself, but it comes in handy post-beating the game as you have hundreds of moons to fine and while you can get the locations marked on your map, the book will tell you how to unlock the not so obvious ones. Again you don't have to buy this, but I would if you grew up on Mario like I did.

Great addition to the game
I remember begging my dad to take me to the book store to get me the cheat book on Super Mario 3 as a kid. However, I was older and it was only text, but it worked for me. I have passed on my love of Mario games to my five year old twins (mommy is a closet gamer). There are a ton of photos in this book and it makes it easy for my girls to find the purple coins and hidden moons. They can't read yet, but there are so many photos, it's actually easy to follow along. Nice addition to the Odyssey game. My kids love looking at the photos and talking about moons they already got.

Worth it with the new lower price
UPDATE (11/17/2017): I've found that the more I use this, the little bit less I like it, lol. For a guide book it's sometimes a little vague, makes things harder than they need to be (jumps to reach moons, etc.) , and two or three times even gave flat out incorrect information. Still, it's helped much more often than not.ORIGINAL COMMENTS: Awesome book for collectors or those looking for every moon using the old school method (book guides, not internet videos)! 350 colorful pages and weighs just over 3lbs. The cover looks plain white but actually has a slightly raised reflective image of the game map on it. In addition to moons, this book gives you kingdom walk throughs, region specific purple coin locations (just on maps, not directions), a thorough guide to all of Mario's moves, all outfits, and more. To me it's well worth the new lower price (~$23 vs ~$40). If it was the full $40 I'd still have held off.A few caveats: As helpful as this book is, I did find myself using the internet to find a few of the moons as the descriptions or pictures didn't help all that much. Speaking of the text itself, the writers took a very casual approach to it, which I found occasionally annoying, and I've seen more than a few grammar/spelling errors. They also refer to other moons to find some, such as saying "using the directions from moon xx..." which can be a pain if I've already found that one on my own or just left that location. Also, moons they reveal during the walk through aren't covered in the the moon specific sections. You'll know because it'll skip that number in the moon section.I unfortunately had to return my first one as one corner was heavily damaged (shipped in bag). The replacement was shipped in a book box per my request (customer service contacted me first) and looks great. For the best gaming experience I suggest this: beat the game and then go through all the levels again on your own to search for more moons (since it unlocks many more). Once you've done that use this guide to fill in the tricky ones.

Best game ever
Mario odyssey is my favorite game of all time. I grew up playing the original Mario on the original Nintendo and basically every game after that. Odyssey is by far my favorite out of all of them. Highly recommend if you’re a mario fan and want a challenging and extremely detailed open world game that is fun and so cute. Not too hard where it’s impossible but challenging enough to keep you on the edge of your seat

Super Mario Odyssey Guides Provides the Moons, but is Lacking on the Regional Coins
Super Mario Odyssey Strategy Guides provides great battle tips and analysis on finding and gaining the Moons, however the Regional Coins is where the guides lacks heavily. The guide does a good job at showing us those hard to fin Regional Coins but the majority of the coins are not shown very well, just a blip on a map, similar to the Korok Seeds for Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So if you want a good look at where the coins are go on YouTube. The price tag for this is a bit much, so if you don't care for posters o/and the Eguide (Digital copy of the guide) than just get the standard paperback guide.

For the collectors and gamers.
Even though you can go on some ad infested website and find those sneaky moons, what's the fun in that? This book has incredible detail from cover to cover and can be a really nice shelf trophy. As for using the book, it's amazing! There are so many collectibles in Mario Odyssey and there are some that are ridiculous to find (there's one that makes you find a tiny taxi in the sky that can only be seen with binoculars).
